Welcome to Woof for Walks!

We are a family run business based in Kirkintilloch, offering dog walking and pet sitting services in:

  • Kirkintilloch
  • Lenzie
  • Torrance
  • Milton of Campsie
  • Chryston

Whether you are out at work all day and your dog is home alone or are unable to give your dog the long walks it needs, woof for walks is here to help!! We offer tailored walks to suit the individual be it early morning walks, evening walks or part of our group walks which take place in the morning, lunchtime and afternoon. We can also visit your dog in your home to let it out in your garden for its needs and make sure its got plenty of water and a nice treat to keep it happy until you return home. 

If you have recently got a puppy but work demands mean that it is home alone we offer a puppy visiting service where we will play with it, feed it and let it out in to your garden to do its business or take it for a short walk.  

We also run a pet taxi service which takes you and your pet to the vet or groomers and then drops you both at home.

If you are away overnight or on holiday and want to keep you your cat or small animal in he surroundings it’s used to and comfortable with then we also offer a home visit service.

We will visit you in your home to meet you and your pet and to discuss any special requirements you or your pet may have and the first walk is free to make sure you and your dog are happy with the services we offer. 

About Us

Having owned dogs all our lives, we decided to change our lives and set up a dog walking and pet sitting business. Our current pets are a one year old cockapoo called Barney and a guinea pig called Fluffy. We have had a variety of pets in the past ranging from stick insects to lizards, hamsters to budgies so are adept at caring for all animals. 

Allan an ex civil servant and Karen, live in Kirkintilloch, we have 3 children ranging from 2 years old to 12 years, the oldest being very keen to walk the biggest dogs possible and the youngest keen to feed them as many treats as possible!! 

Karen and our oldest son can be seen regularly at the Waterside Dog Training Club along with Barney as a member.

We have both been Police checked and are fully insured for your peace of mind.

Services

All our services are offered Monday to Friday from 7am until 11pm. 

Group Dog Walking – We offer a 1 hour group dog walk in a variety of locations for friendly dogs, our favourite spots include Lenzie Moss, Lennox Forrest, Broadwood Loch and Merkland Nature Reserve. We will pick your dog up at your home, give it a full hours exercise then return it to your home with a towel rub down and a treat. This is great for dog socialisation and your dog will be walked off lead in a small group of dogs but only with your permission and after we are certain that it is ready. This service is available throughout the day. If you take advantage of our Dog day care then your dog will be picked up first thing in the morning and will come with us on all our group walks.

Solo Dog Walking– If you would prefer your dog to be walked alone then this is available throughout the day from early morning to late evening. We will walk your dog in a location near your home and these walks can last from 20 mins – 1 hour depending on your dogs requirements.

Comfort Visit – If you only require your dog to be visited for short time to be let out into your garden then we offer this service. We will visit your dog in your home, let it do its needs, make sure it has a drink of water and give it a treat. 

Puppy Visits – puppies walking requirements vary depending on age, too much walking can cause permanent damage to its growing skeleton. We offer tailored visits for your puppy including letting it out into your garden for its comfort, a short walk of up to 30 minutes (depending on age), a play, a treat and filling its water bowl, this also ensures your dog is not home alone for long periods of time.

Pet Taxi – We will pick you and your pet from your home and drop you off at the vets or dog groomers and then return you both to your home. If you are unable to take your dog to the vets or groomers then we can pick your pet up and and drop it off for you.

Cat Sitting and Small Animal Care – If you don’t want the expense of boarding when you are away on holiday or away for a short break then this is the solution. Your pet will stay in the comfort of its own home for the duration and we will visit it daily to feed it, water it and clean it.

We will regularly post a blog to let you know what your pet has been doing and will post pictures in our gallery so you can see your animal having great fun.
