Welcome to Woodfarm Kennels and Cattery

The health and happiness of your pet is very important to all of us at Woodfarm. We have a 12 strong team all with their own areas of expertise. All of our units are kept to a very high standard of hygiene.

A varied diet is available for all pets according to their dietary needs. We ask all of our customers to fill out a diet sheet upon arrival, this helps us to know and understand their eating habits. All our boarders are fed on good quality well known brand foods. All food and drinking vessels are served in stainless steel dishes as these can be washed at a very high temperature, enhancing our standards of hygiene.

Special diets can be catered for when requested in advance.

All pets should be fully vaccinated and present an up to date certificate upon entry. Medication can be administered, please let us know the details in writing upon arrival.

Our vets will liaise with your own vets if necessary, should your pet become ill while in our care a veterinary surgeon will be consulted.

Woodfarm Cattery and our Standards

Your cat will enjoy spacious individual cat cabins that are heated during the winter months. Access to all cabins is via an escape proof passageway. There are ten large family cabins with inter-connecting doors, ideal for separation during feeding times, ensuring that all get their own food.

All cabins have a raised sleeping area, scratching post, climbing frame and a small armchair for your cats to lounge about in. All cats should have an up to date vaccination for feline enteritis and feline influenza, we also recommend vaccinations against feline leukemia.  You are welcome to bring your cat’s personal bed, toys, etc, this helps to keep your cat in touch with its home comforts, your blanket draped over our armchair “what a luxury”. Your cat will also receive individual attention with lots of cuddles.

Our strength lies in providing professional care and supervision guaranteed, compliant with (CIEH) standards, licensed and approved by South Staffs Council.

Woodfarm Cattery has a wide range of well know brand foods available, catering for fussy eaters and special diets.

Woodfarm Kennels and our Standards

All dogs have their own individual spacious indoor living quarters, with a large outdoor run allowing your dog come in and out as they please.

The layout of the kennel blocks has been designed to make sure that no dog looks out of its kennel onto another dog, a feature that helps to create a calm environment for your pets.

All of the kennels have heating to make sure that your pets are kept warm and cozy during their stay. Meals provided for dogs include those cooked in our kitchen, such as chicken, rice, vegetables and a variety of proprietary lines as well as fresh meats.

All the kennels are kept to a very high standard of hygiene, using vet and Defra approved disinfectants that are kind to the dogs in our care, the environment and our staff.
We encourage our customers to bring their dogs own blankets, beds and toys. We guarantee at least one walk per day (at no extra charge) in the open air exercise paddocks.

Woodfarm Kennels are fully approved by South Staffordshire District Council.

Your Dog must be vaccinated against Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis,  Parvovirus, Parainfluenza, Leptospirosis and Bondatella Bronchiseptica (Kennel Cough).

About Woodfarm Kennels and Cattery

Woodfarm Kennels and Cattery started as a family run business in 1978, originally inspired by Mary McCourt’s parents, who have bred dogs for many years. With over 30 years experience, Woodfarm like to think that they have learned from any mistakes and from their customers (two and four legged), what they really want. Attention to detail however small makes all of the difference and means that Woodfarm can offer you a professional service yet with a personal touch.

Set in some 25 acres of beautiful countryside with wonderful walks that back onto Baggeridge and Himley Country Parks. Yet still within 10 minutes drive from the local towns of Wolverhampton, Sedgley and Stourbridge.
Mary and her family live on the premises, so are on hand 24/7. They are supported by a state of the art CCTV system that is connected to the main house after hours, giving complete peace of mind.

Woodfarm also has a 12 strong team of staff with individual areas of expertise.

Our day starts at 6:30am long before customers arrive at 9am, this gives us plenty of time to do chores and prepare for the day ahead.

Inspection is invited at any time during our opening hours
Monday to Saturday  – 9am – 5pm
Sundays and Bank Holidays – 9am – 12 (Noon) (no visitors on Sundays and Bank Holidays)

We also offer reassurance by suggesting that you telephone us whilst you are away, to check how your pets are fitting in. On a lighter note, why not send your pet a postcard, we have cards from all over the world, often with very amusing messages, brightening our office walls!
