TOP DOGS is a family run dog walking and pet sitting business based in Peebles in the beautiful Scottish Borders.
We enjoy being around animals and looking after pets of all shapes and sizes. We have many years of experience with the care and proper handling of animals. For us it’s not just an ordinary job – it is our passion.
We will provide a walking and sitting service that’s fun and friendly. We are trustworthy, reliable and we will give your pet the same love and attention that we give our own pets.Â
Our van gives us the opportunity to take your dog to a wide variety of local woodland walks that the Scottish Borders has to offer.​
We have recently upgraded our cages and provided each dog with their own vet bed for added comfort whilst they’re in our care.

By means of our offer, we relieve pet owners who don’t always have the opportunity to allow their friend the necessary activity and contact with their fellow species. As a pet owner, you will gain a sense of independence in your daily life and at home by a relaxed and balanced animal. TOP DOGS can help you cater for your animal needs so they never feel alone when you are not around. We give your pet the love, attention and care, and of course the cuddles that it needs. You can be safe in the knowledge that your pet is happy, safe, excercised and socialised when you are at work or in holiday.Â
FREE MEET AND GREET
We offer a free initial meeting for you and your pet ensure all parties are 100% happy and comfortable with the arrangement. Our meet and greet consist of gathering information and answering questions, offering advice and picking up keys when needed. When all parties are satisfied, we can create together an individual plan for your animal as each animal is unique and needs a different handling and caring.
TRUST AND SAFETY
We can understand that there are concerns about entrusting someone completely strangers to their keys. Our client’s security is essential to us. Of course, we make a key handover protocol beforehand. Keys are stored in a locked and secure place and are not labelled with any identification that would link them to your property. In the unlikely event of them being lost TOP DOGS takes full responsibility by replacing them.Â

WE GIVE YOUR DOG THE EXERCISE HE NEEDS
Equipped with a wealth of knowledge, such as the safe and confident leading of a dog group, the harmonious assembly of a dog group and the cognition of the needs of individual dog types, we are pleased to offer your dog a great walk.Â
Our own electric van gives us the opportunity to take your dog to a wide variety of local woodland and river walks that the Scottish Borders has to offer. Of course, the pick-up & drop-off of your dogs is inclusive. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
We dog walking in all weathers from 30 mins to 1 hour. Dogs will be walked with other clients’ dogs so they can be socialised and make new friends. We maintain peace and harmony and a pack of up to 6 dogs. 1-1 walks can be arranged if you prefer. We do not walk unsocial dogs in a group as they are best walked on their own. Free walks will be discussed with your free meet and greet. Also can we offer a free basic training if needed.
RESPONSIBILITY
We are aware of our responsibility and always keep a mindfully eye on each of our fosterlings. At any time we take care of the safety and the welfare of the dog group. We providing dogs with cold water during walks especially during hot weather, we also record and report any changes in dog behaviour as well as any physical problem with the dog whilst in our care. We also feed your dog if required after walk. At TOP DOGS we know how much you love your animal, we will treat them like royalty every time.
PET SITTING / DOGGIE DAY CARE
WE WORK WITH ALL KINDS OF ANIMALS
We have years of experience not only with dogs, also with reptiles, hamsters, rats, cats and many other animals. That’s why we are glad to offer you a pet care. We are open to any kind of animal and experienced enough to handle them.
Our pet sitting provide house sitting duties, include collecting the mail and parcels, watering plants and put the rubbish and recycling bins out on designated admitted days. Together, we create a detailed plan to make sure you don’t have to worry while you’re not at home.
CAT VISITS
You can have peace of mind knowing that your pet is in familiar surroundings instead of a cattery.
TOP DOGS will feed, top up water, clean litter trays and pamper your pet while you are away from home.
We realise you will be entrusting your pet to a stranger and we offer a free 15 minutes meet and greet which gives us both an opportunity to get acquainted. This will give us a chance to get to know your cat and fully understand your needs. You will also be able to get answers to any questions about our cat sitting services that you may have.
You can also let us know about other services that you would like such as watering plants, putting out dustbins.Â
