Our Student Programme

Over the past 12 years, not only have we trained 1000’s of puppies, dogs, and their owners, truly making a difference to the lives they enjoy together. We have also trained many students in ‘how to become a dog trainer’.

Our students, using our tried and tested methods of training, have built their own businesses, not only across the UK, including Northern Ireland but in far away places like Malta too and some of them are now award winners too.

The NDTA gives you lifetime support if you want to go it alone and we also have a pet gundog trainer programme where you can work for us in our pet gundog programme.

Puppy Training

Our goal is not just to help you train your puppy but to help you understand what makes them tick by getting to know what’s going on in their head. All online and face-to-face sessions are run by our team of professional and fully qualified puppy trainers.

No Nag Puppy Training Methods

The NDTA puppy training is a very tried and tested programme and it is one of the things that has made us multi-award winners, every year, over the past 12 years. We refer to our training as ‘no nag’ because we try to save our commands for back up and emergencies. Training a puppy or dog is about teaching pup, kindly and effectively, the good behaviours we want, so they do this naturally, much of the time..

Supporting you in your Puppy Training

We want to be sure that you get the support you need. Our team have a range of breeds of dog of varying ages. Some that came to us as pups and some that came to us as rescues.

The team, as part of their ongoing training (which we are very commited to), attend classes with their own pups and dogs (including Sandra), so we all get an understanding for how the customer feels in a class. That means we recognise you might be a little nervous or anxious, especially on week 1, despite the excitement of bringing your new pup along to class.

Our training courses will make a real difference and help you create a strong bond with your puppy. Puppy training is focused on everything you need. Puppy-biting, jumping up, toilet training, focus along with recall, lead-walking, sit, down, leave, stay, correct play and lots of fun activities.

When attending one of our group sessions your puppy will get to meet lots of new puppy friends and will get plenty of training dealing with distraction.

Our puppy training classes are delivered in 6 weekly sessions at Hedge End, Bursledon or Copythorne(New Forest).

These courses are the perfect introduction to dog training, and they will help to ensure that your puppy grows up to become a well-behaved dog.

Dog Training Services

As a team, we have a variety of breeds of dog and have experience of several rescue dogs as well as starting out with a young pup. Between us we have a lot of experience.that we can use, to help you and your dog build a great life together.

For good basic behaviour, if this is reinforcing a behaviour that’s gone a bit flaky, or you’re starting from scratch. One to One Training

If you feel you and your dog need one to one support, or your dog is not comfortable around other dogs and people, then we can support you with our one to one training.

If your dog has any reactivity or aggression issues, please speak to us first, so we can be sure we are the right people to support you. If we’re not, we can help you find someone who is.

Dog Training

Whatever you need for you and your dog, we would love to help. We are passionate about supporting people to get the very best from their dog with positive training methods.

Yanking a dog around on a lead, using a slip lead or other harsh methods of training, don’t teach your dog anything. This just trains your dog by fear. 30 years ago it was the training we thought we had to give, because we had little understanding of the domestic dog and how it learns.
