Lightwoods Park offers 30 acres of walking paths with well-kept grass areas, pretty flowers and lots of squirrels lounging about.
Warley woods offer 100 acres of grade 2 listed historic green space (dogs really don’t mind) with huge open spaces for running, a wide range of trees, shrubs and wilderness paths to explore. Both parks offer great exercise opportunities, socialisation and playtime with fellow four-legged friends.
You can now go on holiday knowing your pooch is having a great holiday too.
At The Good Girl Getaway we offer:
Home from home environment
where your dog can snooze on a couch,
watch the doggy life go by through a sunny bay window,Â
sprawl out on a carpet,
enjoy an endless supply of fuss and cuddles and bark at the postman if really necessary.
Lots of playtimes,
exercise, fun and games.
Your dog will go on two exiting walks a day in Lightwoods Park and Warley Woods;
both totalling over 130 acres of manicured grass areas and complete wilderness.Â
Squirrel chasing, tree marking, stick chewing and making new doggy friends is a part of
compulsory doggy daily activity.
Whether home boarding or doggy daycare we strictly maintain
your dogs feeding routine.Â
All that we require is that you provide us with your pooches
favourite food and snacks.
We also ensure that all dietary requirements are strictly adhered to.
Dogs always have access to fresh water and a warm, dry bed to relax on after a long day of activities. We take your dogs health extremely seriously; we do require proof of up to date vaccinations prior to meet & greet service.
During your dogs stay we closely monitor their health and wellbeing to ensure they are having the best holiday. We can also administer oral medications and supplements as needed to maintain your pets daily routine and to ensure they are healthy and happy pooches.
We completely understand how stressful it can be staying away from your beloved pet so we provide you with a daily photo updates of your pooches’ adventures – you can be assured that your dog is having a wonderful time.
Returning home after their dog holidays as a happy, healthy and relaxed pooch is our number one priority.Â
Just be aware they will probably demand to be booked again for a weekend away at The Good Girl Getaway very soon.

I am a bundle of joy and am always happy to see you. I get at least 8 hours (more like 12) of beauty sleep every day. I brush my teeth religiously with sticks and raw bones. I exercise for at least 2 hours a day – just look at the beautiful shape I’m in. I eat my veggies – blueberries and satsumas are my absolute favourites, I also like bananas as long as they have a dollop of peanut butter on them. Carrots?
Nooooooooooo.
Save carrots for the chubby dogs.
I have good manners – I sit, jump and lie down for a treat. For an extra tasty one, like a cube of cheddar cheese, I might even roll over.
I am super friendly and I love all dogs, all humans, all birds, all flowers and all squirrels (they just run too fast, so I can never get close enough to say hello). I love the sunshine and you can always find me in the bay window sunbathing and watching the dog world go by.
And I love sticks. Oh, how I love them. If you have any spare, please post them to me.
I love swimming. I could swim all day. Swim and nap. Nap and swim. And then some treats. And repeat.
I love my human family. I follow them everywhere. To the kitchen, to the bathroom, into the garden and I supervise them at all times – when they cook or clean, or watch TV or snooze, you know, humans can’t be trusted. Without me keeping an eye they would be in big big trouble.
The only time I leave them alone is when they pull out the Hoover; I then run away and hide in the bathroom. Hoover is one scary thing I tell you.
Mummy says I look just like her, just a bit cuter. I do get tons and tons of cuddles and compliments from humans. She might be right; I too think that I am a cutie pie.
So if you see me in the park or on the street, come and give me a high-paw, treats and cuddles. Love cuddles. But love treats much more.
