As a professional and caring kennels we pride ourselves in getting to know your dog as an individual. Having trained hundreds of dogs and years of experience in caring for different temperaments and breeds we are confident we can provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment for your dog.
Being highly sociable pack animals we love to give your dog the opportunity to play with other dogs when appropriate. This can be especially beneficial for young dogs and those that cannot be let off the lead at home. We exercise some dogs in small groups when the owner is happy for us to do so and on their own when they are not a good mixer or have medical conditions eg ligament problems. We also have the option to walk our dogs over fields if they need some extra attention away from the other dogs. Having so many years of experience in training and handling dogs we are confident our routine provides a great balance between exercise and rest in a comfortable environment.
Quite simply we provide everything your dog needs but you are more than welcome to bring your own food. We keep as close as possible to your feeding routine at home whether that be once, twice or more often per day. As a nutritionist and over 20 years experience in feeding clients dogs Aled is confident in ensuring each dog has a diet most suited to their digestion, weight and activity level. If you are having difficulty with any feeding issues please inform us when you bring your dog and we are happy to try and help.
Administering medications are never a problem as we regularly care for diabetics, epileptics those with joint and heart problems as well as dogs on chemotherapy. Please bring any medications or supplements with your dog and we will take instructions from you or your vet on dosage and frequency of the dosage. Water bowls are cleaned daily and continually kept full.
We have a great working relationship with the local vets and should your dog become ill whilst with us, we will endeavour to use your vet to care for your dog. For any injury or new illness we will cover all vets fees in the unfortunate event that there is a problem, as all dogs are insured with Petplan included in the price of the stay.
We require annual vaccinations to be up to date and request you bring your vets card with you on your first visit and thereafter annually after a booster vaccination as we keep all your dogs records on our database. Kennel Cough vaccination is recommended but not compulsory but if you are concerned please give us a ring as we are happy to give advice and details on this condition.
We provide freshly laundered Vetbed and baskets, feed and water bowls which are washed thoroughly between each feed. We have feed stands for those dogs prone to torsion. If you want to bring anything for your dog you are most welcome.
We have two kennel buildings of different design to suit various dogs. We have family rooms for up to four dogs. Private individual rooms for smaller and younger dogs and also safety kennels with outdoor runs which many of our police dog handlers use. Every room is heated with a lamp with various heat settings depending on the temperature, but conversely all the rooms are well insulated and ventilated to keep them cool in summer.
We occasionally have a special request which we will always try and accommodate. Please feel free to ask. If you have any further questions please give a ring or turn up during the opening times and have a look around and we can discuss your dogs needs.
As a modern luxury cattery with a large central conservatory and thermostat controlled under floor heating we aim to provide excellent care for your precious cats all year round whatever the weather. Our years of experience and professional ethos help us show the care and attention to detail needed to ensure not only are your cats safe and secure but well handled, brushed, happy and relaxed.
Privacy is vital for cats when they are moved to a new environment. Being territorial cats prefer not to have the intrusion of strange cats company by being too close to them. As you will know if you have ever had a neighbours cat in your garden and heard the ensuing commotion.
Our cattery affords great privacy with a wide conservatory between the rooms giving a bright and airy feel whilst being protected from the elements. However, for sociable cats and family groups we have high level windows in the rooms which in the event of a large family group we can open up and have had up to six cats sharing three open rooms. This gives each cat the choice and freedom they would normally have at home by being able to move from room to room.
Each room has under floor heating which is thermostat controlled and provides a constant year round environment even in the middle of the coldest winter. The rooms are also fully insulated to keep comfortable in summer. Please come and visit and we can show you around.
We provide all the food for your cats stay whether that be a major brand of complete dry food, meat or a combination. For fussy eaters we provide fresh chicken or similar to ensure they are relaxed and well fed whilst in our care. Of course some owners like to bring their own food and we are happy to feed or prepare as necessary.
Administering medications is not a problem and being such a comfortable environment we have a large number of very elderly cats who come and stay, many of whom require medications. As a lecturer one of Aled’s roles was an assessor in the safe use and handling of veterinary medicines. This role along with years of experience ensures there are no concerns in dealing with any of your cats needs. When you bring your cat to stay we discuss and record your cats medical history and any special requirements whilst they are with us. Please always feel free to discuss anything which will make your cats stay more comfortable.
Fresh water is available at all times.
We provide freshly laundered Vetbed, baskets, feed and water bowls which are washed thoroughly between each feed. We also supply cat litter trays and cat litter. If you want to bring anything for your cat you are most welcome.
We want your cat to feel happy and settled when they come to stay with us, for this reason you are welcome to bring favourite items such as toys, bedding or blankets so your cat has something familiar to help them relax in their new surroundings. We like to keep a close eye to make sure your cat is eating properly and settling in well, especially during the first few days and even more so on their first visit.
We have a great working relationship with the local vets and should your cat become ill whilst with us we will endeavour to use your vet to care for your cat. For any injury or new illness we will cover vets fees in the unfortunate event that there is a problem, as all cats are insured with Petplan included in the price of the stay.
Please feel free to discuss any of your cats needs or any special requests, as we are always happy to help.
