Sheldon Dog Services Ltd is a family-run, community-focused small business based in Birmingham. We offer a wide range of top-quality services and products. Our goal and passion as a team are to deliver the kind of service, love, and attention to detail we would expect for our own dogs.

From the top down we encourage our team to provide for the needs of your dogs first and our business last. We always strive to do the right thing. We constantly review all of our policies, procedures, and general running of the business to ensure we are meeting if not going above and beyond our expectations.

We offer Dog walking, grooming and training services as well as running our very own Dog retail shop. This isn’t a Job to us. It’s genuinely our passion.

SERVICES

DOG SOCIAL WALKS

We have found that the vast majority of our training customers can utilise these walks as a cheaper alternative to one-to-one training once we’ve taught them the basics. They are an awesome way to build on practical skills as well as confidence building for owners too.

Many customers are nervous even enquiring about these walks, let alone attending them. Rest assured, we take things at your and your dogs’ pace. This may mean having to hang back at a greater distance initially. However, the vast majority of dogs and owners can close this distance with enough practice and help.

Some people use these walks to socialise with their dogs or even themselves. Sometimes it’s more reassuring to walk together with other dog owners than on your own. We have a great community of non-judgemental customers and staff who are all in similar boats. Rest assured, you will be met with support and kindness.

We hold these walks once per week, so please drop us a message on Facebook or via text to arrange a call to discuss your needs.

We are proud that our staff volunteer their time freely to conduct these walks. Any money raised from these walks is used towards our vulnerable customer discounts programme. This is where we walk, train or even groom dogs for a massively reduced rate as a way of giving back to the more vulnerable members of our community.

For dogs who are social butterflies, we offer Group Walks with up to 4 dogs per Dog Walker, available in 30 minutes or 1-hour slots. For those dogs who prefer their own space or require one-to-one attention, we offer Solo Walks, available in 30 minutes or 45-minute slots.

We cater to dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. We are known for being experienced with and able to accommodate larger breeds. This includes working dogs and dogs with reactivity/socialisation issues. Between our staff, we also have experience of personally owning Huskies, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, German Shepherds, Dobermanns, Pomeranians, Chihuahuas, Poodles, Border Collies, Dalmations, Whippets, Terriers… there’s no discrimination here!

This is no doubt due to our exceptional track record for prioritising quality over quantity and always going the extra mile for our two and four-legged customers.

The majority of our Dog Walkers are also Dog Trainers so they are behaviour conscious at all times. We understand the importance of mentally exercising your dog, as well as physically exercising them. We aim to make all walks as interesting and stimulating as possible for your pooch. We will always be focussing on encouraging good behaviour during walks. Many Owners notice their Dogs come on leaps and bounds just by using our walking services, let alone our training services!

It’s common for our industry to hire a “self-employed” team. All our staff are employed by the business, meaning they are fully insured under our comprehensive insurance policies.

We want our staff to feel secure, safe and well looked after. Having access to employment rights, wages, holidays, pension etc goes a long way to keeping them physically and mentally happy. We strongly believe this flows through to the dogs in our care too!

• Panic Alarms (To deter dog thefts)
• Pet Corrector Sprays (Just in case a member of the publics dog attacks a dog we’re walking)
• What Three Words App (Should an Emergency occur, we can pinpoint exactly where our staff are rather than a general idea of a park they are in)
• Dog Safety Seat Belts
• Belt Cutters (Helpful in many situations)

DOG GROOMING SERVICES

We only use the best quality grooming tools and products on the market. They are cruelty-free, kind to your dog and kind to the planet. Your dog’s comfort and safety is our top priority. This is why our Salon is kitted out with CCTV, a triple door system with access control, a viewing window and ample space for your dog to relax. Our Staff are also Canine First Aid Trained so you can have peace of mind that your dogs are in safe hands.

Our award-winning stylists go above and beyond to provide a service that suits the needs of you and your dog. We are constantly furthering our canine-related education and abilities. We are proud to be the most highly recommended Grooming service in the area.

We are happy to help with advice and guidance on maintaining your dog’s coat at home. We can help you to find the correct tools and products needed for your dog’s coat. Pinpoint how to correctly desensitise them to any grooming related fears. Work together to find the recommended grooming schedule for your dog – based on their lifestyle and your styling preferences.
