We opened in October 2015 in a quiet rural location, our boarding kennels all have large heated lodges. Intentionally limited, with six lodges, we board up to a maximum of 12 dogs; keeping the number of dogs staying with us to a manageable number allows us to provide personal and attentive care for your dog(s) at all times. The dog kennels are an ERYC Licensed facility, meeting the new 2018 standards and requirements, the number is 24465 and the licencee is Mrs Nicola Richardson.
We live on site so can attend to your dog’s needs and also no unnecessary early bedtime! We have over 3 acres of private paddocks in which to take the dogs on lovely walks. There is a secure exercise area where your dogs can enjoy a play off the lead. We will also keep your dog’s dietary routine, be it fresh or dry or tinned food, which we’ll ask you to bring along.

We ask you to drop-off your dog(s) in the afternoon and pick them up in the morning; an additional charge is levied for alternative drop-off and pick-up times. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

We have six individual kennels, each with its own heated sleeping lodge and secure covered run. All bedding is provided and freshly laundered although you are welcome to bring your dog’s bedding (and toys) should you prefer. The dog kennels, six in total, can each accommodate up to two small/medium sized dogs from the same family. The kennels opened in October 2015 and are licensed by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, meeting the new licence requirements.
Adjacent to the kennels is a secure exercise area where the dogs can run and play off the lead. We give the dogs’ regular time out of the kennels and at least three walks in our paddocks each day. As we live on site, we don’t need to put the dogs’ to bed at an unnecessarily early time. We will also keep your dog’s dietary routine, be it fresh or dry or tinned food, which we’ll ask you to bring along. You can also bring their favourite treats. Any prescription diets or medication must be supplied by the owner, with details of administration.
Conditions of boarding
We will not accept any dog for boarding without evidence the dog is up to date with its vaccinations, including kennel cough. This is a requirement of the ERYC Kennel Licence which we must adhere to.
Nicola is a qualified City & Guilds Dog Groomer, having trained at Bishop Burton College. Full grooming services are available, including: clipping/scissoring to breed standard, bathing, nail cutting, teeth cleaning. Nicola prides herself on providing a stress free experience in a separate quiet grooming stable on-site.
Please arrange for your dog to be groomed at the time of booking their stay in the kennels.

Rowley Cottage is located in the Yorkshire Wolds village of Rowley and close to the popular Rowley Manor Country Hotel. Despite being in the countryside and surrounded by farm land we are only 6 miles from Beverley, 5 miles from Cottingham and 3 miles from South Cave.
Within our grounds we have over 3 acres of paddocks which is great for walking the dogs, come rain or shine. We sometimes take the dogs on a walk further afield on a lead with our own dogs, if they are willing and able.
Favourite walks in the area
When we can, we like to take our dogs further afield for a run out and some new smells. Here are a couple of our favourites, with OS Explorer Map 293 .
Drewton Loop OS grid ref. 920330
Park considerately on the access road to Drewton Manor. This walk is well signposted and gives great views across the Humber Estuary. Head along the track past the Drewton Estate buildings; turning left at the first signposted opportunity. The path climbs steeply upwards, then head off to the right still climbing slightly – this is where to look back at the fabulous views. The path tracks alongside a wood before coming out on the B1230. Turn right, staying safely on the verge, and take first right along a track. Following the signposts, the path loops back to towards Drewton Manor, first descending through a beautiful woodland path and past Diamond Cottage. At the end of the walk, Drewton Farm Shop & Tea Room is definitely worth a visit.

Park at the Dog & Duck, so as to have tasty pint of real ale at the end – the food is excellent too. There are several walks from here, we like a ‘figure of eight’. Cross the road from the pub and up a footpath past the church, turn left onto the ‘Beverley 20’ before turning right past the horse paddocks. When the footpath come to a T-junction, turn right to head back into the village for a shorter walk, or turn left and past Risby Park Farm all the way down the track to the road. Turn left along the road, past the entrance to Risby Fishing Lakes (where there is a cafe if you need a cuppa), and keep going until the footpath sign to the left. Take it, keeping the woodland to your left and look through the trees for the folly on the lakeside. The path comes out onto the road, take a left and an immediate left onto a track, following the footpath back towards Risby Park Farm. Turn right and this time stay on the track, past Halfpenny Gate Cottages, and back into the village for a well earned drink.
