Rags & Bert’s is full of activities to ensure a happy hound. Large or small, sensitive or shy, young or old, they all get individual attention, playtime, naps and exercise. Your dog will look forward to his regular daycare days where the emphasis is on doing what all doggies love to do: a bit of play, a lot of socialising, a little bit of obedience and time to chill out..and all with their furiends.

Doggy daycare allows your dog to connect with their true canine selves, run around or just hang with their buddies and talk about how weird their humans are! You’ll know how much they’ve loved their day at Rags & Bert’s as they excitedly greet you, tell you about their day and then snore all the way home! You’ll both have had a wonderful day!

Our regular daycare model

Open from 7am to 6.30pm, we offer half-day or full-day regular monthly subscriptions with a minimum commitment of one half-day or one full-day session per week. Just like a children’s nursery, you need to be prepared to commit for the sake of your dog. Your monthly daycare subscription gives you guilt-free time off each week, knowing your dog is getting mental stimulation and play with their furry friends and our caring and passionate team.

Join the daycare programme for our hotel boarders from 9am-2pm followed by relaxation time and rest.

Dog Bus Collection/Drop-off Service

Our dog-friendly dog bus operates Mondays through Friday: Morning collections between 9.15am-10.30am | Lunchtime collection or drop off between 12.15pm-1.15pm | Afternoon drop off between 4pm-5.30pm. 
If there’s no-one at home, you can organise a key to be held with us or a key-safe at your home.

• £7.00 per trip within 5 miles of Rags & Bert’s

We can collect/drop off outside the above hours and at weekends by appointment only. The cost will depend on where you live (mileage @ £1.75/mile) and is a minimum of £25 for each trip.

How do I sign up?

If you’re new to daycare, we can arrange for you to visit our doggy daycare centre in Reading, Berkshire and for you and your dog to have a free 30-minute Play & Stay Assessment and Tour before your place is confirmed. We only have a few PAS appointments available each week and these are in high demand so please  plan to visit us as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out on a daycare slot. Register your dog HERE and we’ll contact you automatically to set up a visit.

We’ll make sure your dog’s play style and sociability works well with other dogs, giving you a worry free time, knowing your dog is in the safest of hands.

Training for happy dogs and proud owners

At Rags & Bert’s we are pleased to offer a variety of different training and socialisation options for puppies and older dogs. Whether you’re bringing a new puppy into your family and need guidance on how to help them to be a happy well-balanced dog, or whether your existing dog needs a helping hand or a refresher to grasp particular training aspects, we offer training to suit your needs.

Delivered by our highly qualified and experienced dog trainers and behaviourists, your best friend is in good hands. 

Puppy Socialisation Parties – bring your puppy to learn and play!

Our Puppy Socialisation Parties run every Friday from 1.15-2.15pm. Apart from enjoying meeting other puppies for a play date, your puppy will also:-

• Learn to interact with other dogs of a similar age
  

  

• Develop their play style
• Benefit from being in a new environment, with new smells, new surfaces and new toys 
• Meet our expert hooman team to make future daycare visits easy and seamless
• Develop their canine social skills with the help of our team
• Become more confident and well rounded

All fully supervised by our team who are highly skilled in canine socialization. Pre-booking is essential as numbers are limited. The cost is £18 payable in advance. 

Individual confidence-building 

We offer one-on-one sessions with Rags & Bert’s resident animal behaviourist. Confidence building is helpful for dogs that are nervous of new people, new dogs and new environments. We’ll work one-on-one with your dog to build their confidence and trust in strangers and towards other dogs.

• Personalised training per 30 minute session – £35

These are perfect for daycare dogs and hotel residents. Why not let your four-legged friend make the most of their stay with a bit of refresher behaviour training and build up their confidence and social skills. 

Bespoke dog training 1:1

Our individual bespoke training is ideal for the busy dog owner. We’ll train your dog or puppy in areas such as sit/wait, walk to heel, loose lead walking, recall with the distraction of other dogs, gate/door manners and general socialisation with other dogs. We use positive reward training which is science based. 

• 45 minute individual session – £55

daycare manners training

We’ll train your dog during daycare on areas you need help with such as jumping up, sit/stay, loose lead walking with the distraction of other dogs, recall, gate/door manners, settle and party tricks. Training within our daycare environment will help your dog learn in a highly distractive environment (much like a busy park). It will ensure that the two of you can enjoy every moment together outside and at home. Our training is science based using positive reward. 

• 6 x 20 minute session during daycare – £150
