Welcome to Puppy School Plymouth

At Puppy School, we pride ourselves on using modern, reward-based training techniques based on the science behind behaviour to achieve great results. In fully appreciating and understanding canine behaviour, we work hard to make sure you and your puppy have the best possible life together.

Puppy School Plymouth provides a comprehensive programme which has been carefully designed to take you through all the obedience basics giving you a good foundation for life with your new puppy.

Puppy School is founded by APBC registered behaviourist and author Gwen Bailey. Your tutors regularly attend seminars and conferences run by leading trainers/behaviourists in order to keep up to date with the latest science behind animal behaviour and training.

The puppy training exercises gradually progress from easy to more complex over a period of six weekly sessions lasting one hour. We help you to build on your puppy’s understanding and reliability each week.

We want to give your puppy the best start possible so we educate puppies to have good manners, to be friendly with adults, children and other puppies and to respond to basic commands.

Your experienced Puppy School Tutor will be on hand throughout the course to help you with any behavioural problems you may be experiencing. At the end of the six-week course, your puppy will graduate and receive a very special Puppy School rosette and certificate for completing the course.

Hi, I’m Frankie and I am the new tutor for Puppy School in Plymouth!

I am so excited to be able to offer Puppy School classes to you and your families and cannot wait to meet you and your pups.

I started my career working with animals as a veterinary nurse and whilst working as a vet nurse I studied further qualifications in animal behaviour. Over the years I spent working in the veterinary profession I worked with many dogs and gained so much knowledge as well as a real passion for helping dog owners with behaviour and training advice.

After taking my own dog, Ebony (a cheeky Sprocker Spaniel) to Puppy School and absolutely loving the course I knew I wanted to become a Puppy School tutor too!

I live in Ivybridge with my partner and my little boy who was born in September 2020.

Being a vet nurse, I have collected a few animals over the years and as well as my Sprocker I also have a beautiful cat, Kiki and a leopard gecko, Dobby!

I am still a Registered Veterinary Nurse, I am a qualified Dog First Aider, I hold the ISVPS Nurses Certificate in Animal Behaviour and I am also studying towards a BSc (Hons) Applied Animal Behaviour degree.

I am so excited to be bringing Puppy School to Plymouth and would love to hear from you! If you would like to find out more about the Puppy School course or would like to book please do not hesitate to contact me.
