A message from Angela
I love sharing my knowledge and it’s so rewarding to help you achieve such positive changes to your dogs behaviour…. and your life!
All of the training courses and private training plans I offer have been designed as a result of almost 25 years experience working with dogs. I have experience as a groomer, dog walker, daycare provider, home boarder, career development trainer, all alongside developing my experience in dog training and behaviour. I work full time, only focusing on training and behaviour support so I can offer specialist services.
My work experience is vital for helping you with your training but I also have Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in educating adults, so you can be confident you’ll have a professional and supportive experience.
I began working with dogs in 1995 as a Dog Groomer and quickly moving into the field of Training and Behaviour. I started Progress Dog Training with a vision of helping pet owners raise puppies into adult dogs who are a pleasure to have at home or out and about. My training focuses on pet dogs, so there is no pressure or competition – I’ll help you achieve as much as you want to. I hold a Level 3 award in Education and Training and a Level 5 Teaching certificate so you can be confident in my ability to train people , not just dogs!
Over the years I have been lucky enough to take part in organising enjoyable events such as fun dog shows, daycare, gundog sessions, charity displays and various other dog related activities. Personally I have had articles published in the local press, the Bexley Times and the Chronicle and also have a book published called ‘The New Puppy Owners Manual’. I have provided assessments on dogs when required for legal reasons and have worked with a few of our local veterinarian practices.
I have almost 30 years experience working with owners under many different circumstances. Whether you are part of a family, single, a home worker or dealing with changing situations, I understand that every client is different and what works for one does not necessarily work for another! While qualifications are important, I find it’s my experience in the real world that benefits my clients the most. My method of training is reward based using a variety of modern techniques as appropriate – the emphasis is on combining a Behavioural approach with the discipline of obedience training where required.
We can teach our dogs many things and I believe the key to success is to ensure they actually want to do what they’ve learned when you ask for it! Better still, training is most successful when our dogs choose to behave well in the first place – I’ll help you understand how to help them make good decisions.
Training courses that give you knowledge, confidence and skills that will improve your life with your dog. These intense courses are focused on dog behaviour, practising obedience training and impulse control around distraction so you can learn the techniques to help achieve success in the real world! All in a friendly and fun environment.
