Established in 2005, Pets in the City is one of the most professional and reputable dog care businesses in London, providing a reliable and friendly service for discerning dog owners with busy and demanding lifestyles.

At our premises in St Helen’s Gardens, Ladbroke Grove, we offer a full range of dog care services including dog walking, dog day care, dog grooming in our poochy parlour and retail therapy in our chic boutique.  For those looking for longer stays we also provide home from home dog boarding retreats at Humphrey & Bo our Dog Hotel & Country Club set in 11 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside.

WHO ARE WE?

Established in 2005 by our Founder and Director Sarah Marris, Pets in the City is a professional, reliable, trustworthy and friendly dog care business. Our focus is purely on the dogs we care for, providing them with the mental and physical stimuli needed for a dog’s happiness and wellbeing. Whether you’re looking to use our services for just an occasional walk or on a monthly, weekly or even daily basis, we will endeavour to accommodate your needs.

Our business is about the love of dogs… it’s a lifestyle choice.

All our staff are CRB checked and have either worked with or owned dogs previously. They undergo a thorough training regime for at least a month prior to walking any of the dogs in our care by themselves, to ensure staff know and understand the character, personality, energy levels and behaviour traits of each individual dog.

Our focus when caring for dogs is to make sure they are happy, socialised, fully exercised and most of all loved.  We don’t believe in leaving the dogs to their own devises by watching whilst they do their own thing, we are fully hands on playing games, running, having cuddles and generally getting involved (this can get mucky in the winter!). This helps to exercise the dog’s body and mind which is so important to a dogs happiness, particularly the more intelligent ones. 

DOG WALKING SERVICES IN LONDON

We have offered professional dog walking services in the West London area since 2005. We aim to make all walks fun and interesting for our dogs, exercising their bodies and their brains. Dogs in our care get plenty of exercise playing games, running around and generally using lots of energy. All dogs are grouped with like minded dogs according to energy levels, age and temperament. Aggressive dogs are not accepted.

What We Offer

• Regular or occasional dedicated dog walking.

• Choice of morning, midday and afternoon dog walks.

• Friendly, professional and CRB checked staff.

• At least 1 – 1.5 hrs of actual walking/play time per session.

• On and off lead, fun exercise.

• Free pick up and drop off service (local area only)

• Up to 5 dogs walked in one group.

• All vehicles are fitted with cages for safety.

All dogs must undergo a ‘trial assessment’ prior to being accepted for any of our services (£35 per dog).

We are professional, experienced, reliable, insured and are members of NARP (National Association of Registered Pet sitters).

We mainly walk our dogs in the Wormwood Scrubbs area due to the proximity to our premises (this cuts down on ‘van time’ for the dogs), when traffic is quieter we also walk in Kensington Gardens, Putney Riverside Walk, Chiswick House, Battersea Park, plus many more.

DOG DAY CARE SERVICES IN LONDON

Our ‘Doggie Day Care’ has proved extremely popular with our London clients who have a busy lifestyle and need to leave their dogs with us for the day. We make life simple by picking up and dropping off your dogs so you don’t have to do a thing. Full dog care packages are available.

At day care, your dog will be having a great time benefiting from long, fun walks, games and socialising with other dogs. Sending your dog to come and play with us for the day on a regular daily, weekly or even ad-hoc basis will help maintain/improve your dog’s social habits and keep him/her nice and fit. 

We are able to look after your dog at the very latest of notice due to our multiple vehicles and staff.  For regular clients we do try and make sure the same member of staff cares for your dog to help create a bond.

Please note all new dogs must undergo a trial assessment. We cannot accept bitches on heat or un-neutered male dogs over 8 months old.

DAY CARE INCLUDES:

• On or off lead walks to many different parks

• Pick up and drop off (please check with us to see if you are within our pick up zone)

• Day creche areas with lots of lovely beds to choose from and outdoor garden for toilet breaks

• Socialising with other dogs both on walks and in the creche

• Lots of human interaction and cuddles (our favourite part)

• Access to water all day

• Village Vets, St Helens Garden branch, next door in case of emergencies

We take care of dogs from many London areas… Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Putney Riverside Walk, Hampstead Heath, Regents Park, Wormwood Scrubs, Battersea Park, plus many more.

DOG GROOMING SERVICES IN LONDON

Our grooming salon offers clipping, hand stripping, scissor work, teeth brushing (not de-scaling), ear cleaning, nail clipping, washing and drying.  We are very lucky as the salon is based in the same building as our Boutique Shop and Day Creche and has a small garden so if your dog is a little old or just needs a break from grooming they can have a potter outside and stretch their legs or have a toilet break.

Short of time? Let us take some of the stress out of your day by combining a dog walk or day creche with our grooming service complete with a free pick up and drop off. We can also deliver food at the same time we drop off your dog or a nice new collar, coat or toy.

Luxury Dog Boarding At Our Dog Hotel & Country Club

All our dog boarding takes place at our sister company Humphrey & Bo.  Hidden away in the beautiful Dorset countryside our 11 acres of fields, woodlands, streams and meadows makes Humphrey & Bo the perfect setting for your dog’s country retreat. Our Country Club offers a choice of activities throughout the day from search and find in the woods, a paddle in the stream, games and socialising or for the more adventurous a go on our agility course.  For those guests who prefer to take things easy the wonderful Grade 2 Listed farmhouse and cottage provides all the creature comforts for a good old snooze on one of the many sofas or squashy beds.

At Humphrey & Bo the dogs live with us as part of the family.  Our main priority is to ensure they are fulfilled, happy, having fun and relaxed on their holiday giving you peace of mind whilst you are away. We will even send you photos of your dog’s activities throughout the day if you would like.

All dogs are taken on exciting off-lead group walks 3-4 times a day, including last thing at night. Daily play sessions are paired with a go on our agility course with tunnels, A-frames, poles and jumps and our dedicated team also practice retrieve, tugging, football, frisbee and catch games with all our guests. 

We pride ourselves in offering an exemplary service, with qualified friendly staff, a 24-hour vet, expert supervision and fully fenced boundaries.  No kennels, no cages, no leads, just fun with friends in beautiful, secure surroundings.   

Please note there is a minimum booking policy for boarding of 5 days/nights during school holiday weekends, Valentines & Bank Holiday weekends (3 days & nights during term time weekends) and 7 days/nights during Easter. The minimum booking policy for boarding over Christmas/New Years is approx. 12 days (from the last Thursday before Christmas Day to the first working day after New Year’s Day). All boarding is booked on a first come first serve basis, we cannot reserve spaces.
