Myself and my husband live in the Peak District National Park, halfway between Leek and Buxton in Quarnford, near to Flash. Therefore we’re in a convenient location to visit your pets in both Leek, Buxton and surrounding villages, visiting pets as far as Warslow, Hartington and Ipstones. We are ardent animal lovers, and their happiness is extremely important to us. We hope this shows in the very high standards of care we offer to your pets when they’re in our care.
We have a vast amount experience working with all animals, and as we have a smallholding, have a menagerie of our own:
Our Bedlington Terriers called Grace and Summer, our two lovely moggies (Clover and Alfie), our two Maine Coons (Haggis and Horatio), our Ragdoll Geoff, a Shire Horse called Charlie and a number of chickens. We have also previously owned rabbits, tortoises, a snake, ducks, aTamworth pig, alpacas and sheep.
My petsitting business has been established since 2014, providing pet home visits for cats, chickens, rabbits, birds, ducks, geese, sheep to name a few! We used to provide a doggy daycare service, and are still licenced for this, but are no longer offering this service to new clients, due to other commitments.
This is especially important for cats, who are extremely territorial, and find being moved from their familiar territory, an extremely stressful experience, which can contribute to any pre-exisiting health conditions they may have. We pride ourselves on the very high standard of care offered to cats, understanding their needs, routines and behaviour, through lifelong cat ownership. Â
We have 5 cats of our own, so are very experienced and ardent cat lovers. I have dealt with many medical issues, both past and present, including heart disease (requiring medication), kidney disease (requiring medication), diabetes (requiring twice daily insulin injections), and asthma (requiring an inhaler). Â
I am especially considerate with shy and nervous cats, helping them to feel comfortable in my presence, with a kind, patient and calm approach.
We are also experienced small animal lovers, as we have our own reptiles (3 tortoises and previously a corn snake). We have also been lucky to have rabbits, gerbils, hamsters and birds in the past.
We are fully insured, which includes keyholding insurance and have basic DBS clearance.
Home visits will last for 30 minutes, which includes handling and playtime with your pets such as cats, rabbits, hamsters, gerbils, birds, reptiles etc.
Your pets(s) will then be fed, water changed, and if you have a cat, removal and replacement of soiled litter, and if another small pet, then removal and replacement of soiled bedding in their cage. I will take photos of your pets, which will be uploaded to Facebook or Instagram unless you specify otherwise in your pet details form. I will also contact you after each visit with an update.
If your pet(s) have any special medical requirements, then Peak Pet Services are comfortable in administering tablets, other medication, and injections also.
If you have a fish tank, then these will be fed at no extra charge.  Picking up post, closing/opening curtains, turning on/off lights and indoor plant watering is at no extra charge. Just add this to your pet details for if required.
