Paws For Thought is a professional pet care service located in Chelmsford Essex. I offer a friendly reliable service and can cater for all your pets’ needs. If you are looking for an occasional or full-time walker or you are delayed at work I am only a phone call away. For dog walking I cover a ten mile radius of Chelmsford. This doesn’t apply for house sitting.
HOURS OF OPERATION
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday – Friday
9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday – Sunday

Welcome to Paws for Thought Essex, where you will find a caring, flexible and friendly professional dog walking and pet care service along with pet and house sitting.
Dogs have always been my passion and my commitment and desire to work with them led me to set up Paws for Thought. I understand just what an important part of the family a pet is and that is reflected in the commitment and devotion I give to each and every one of my pet clients, and these clients not just dogs but any pet large or small, two legged, four legged, furry or feathered!
I also understand how tricky it is to juggle work commitments and pet care and seek to tailor my service to the needs of each client. Providing a personalised pet sitting service in your own home also allows for holidays to be booked without the stress and worry of having to leave your precious pets away from home.

I am a great believer in dogs socialising. Like children, puppies are not born with social skills so I feel it’s my job to help aid socialising the dogs in my care. However, a lot depends on the dog and my client’s requirements. So, if you prefer me to walk your dog on its own then equally I am happy to do so.
I try to take the dogs I care for on different walks. It is important to let your dog experience a variety of environments, from pathways to fields. This will provide your dog with much-needed mental stimulation.
Swimming is also great exercise for your dog and fun at the same time. Take a look for yourself!
I take time to listen and understand your dog’s lifestyle and habits to ensure this is incorporated into their own Personal Paws Plan. I am fully insured, first-aid trained in animal care and hold a DBS certificate. References can be provided upon request.
Dog Walking
Exercise is KEY to your dog’s good health!
Your dog will enjoy a minimum of one hours’ walk around your area or a local park. This can be on or off lead depending on your dogs needs. I will meet with you and your dog to discuss an individual ‘Paws Plan’ and ensure you are happy with how I will be looking after your dog prior to undertaking any work.
Pet and House Sitting
Your pup’s “home away from home”!
Sometimes it is necessary to be parted temporarily from your pets – you are away on holiday or on a work visit. Whilst kennels can offer a solution to this I feel that taking care of your pet in their own environment is more comforting and causes less disruption to their day to day routine. I would hope that this would give you the reassurance that your pet is happy and thriving in the comfort of their own home and in turn this means you can relax and enjoy your holiday knowing your pet is safe and well at home.

Paws For Thought “Taxis”!
If you are unable to take your pet to the vets and cannot get the time off work then I can transport your pet for you. If it is convenient and I’m in the right place then I will endeavour to accommodate veterinary appointments at last minute notice.
