Paws 4 Walking offer a professional and reliable dog walking service along with puppy visits, doggie day care and boarding, home pet visits, small pet boarding, rabbit and guinea pig boarding and house sitting for all kinds of animals.

We are passionate and committed to making a difference to the daily lives of both pets and their owners. We will provide your pets with all the love they need whilst in our care.

Inactivity, isolation, boredom and loneliness can cause many behaviour problems. Companionship along with physical and mental stimulation can reduce these problems.

Paws 4 Walking is a family owned and run business. Our hand picked team are all dog owners past or present and have a passion for the work that they do. We aim to exceed our customers expectations.  We like to think of ourselves as your Personal Assistant for all your pet related needs.

About Us

Paws 4 Walking

Paws 4 Walking was setup by me, Myles Garfield-Thomas. My final “office” job was as Senior National Negotiator for Cemex UK based in Rugby. In 2008, I decided to step off the corporate ladder, follow my passion and Paws 4 Walking was born.

I have always had a love for animals and have previously owned dogs, cats, rabbits and rats. I enjoy working with horses and have competed as an amateur show jumper.

When I started the business, my aim was to offer a professional and reliable dog walking service within Market Harborough and the surrounding villages and over the years this has grown from strength to strength. In addition, I decided to also offer home visits for animals such as cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish birds and many more, ensuring pets are kept in the routine to which they are accustomed, in their own home. Paws 4 Walking currently employ 12 professional dog walkers, who also undertake home visits.

Having received many enquiries regarding rabbit and guinea pig boarding, in July 2009, we decided to setup The Paws Inn. This has proved a popular service over the school holiday periods, the summer months especially. The animals are dropped off with us and enjoy their holiday at The Paws Inn, a purpose built small animal retreat.

In January 2010 we had a influx of new puppies. This was when we decided to add Puppy Visits to our portfolio. I visited our resident vet for the business, Tim Murphy from Town and Country, Market Harborough and he gave us the guidelines to work to for puppy visits. These visits are normally half hour visits until the puppy reaches six month old and include garden play, short walks and socialisation with other dogs and people outside the environment. We also provide basic training, to start them on the right path.

We had not intended to offer doggie day care or boarding, however, due to business demands in March 2010 this was a service added to our portfolio. Paws 4 Walking are licenced and approved by Harborough District Council.

In December 2010 we had a number of enquiries for House Sitting and this has steadily increased, especially where customers have a number of animals to look after.

We, as a team, are passionate and committed to making a difference to the daily lives of both pets and their owners. We aim to exceed our customers’ expectations.
