Puppy School Lingfield
I am your trainer Sarah and this is Harley!
Harley is my inspiration for ‘My Complex Canine’! As a young puppy he developed some health problems, which impacted his training needs throughout puppyhood, adolescence and into adulthood!
I already had a passion for learning, which combined with my desire to help our beautiful canine friends took me on a pathway of discovery and development through practical and theoretical experience to become the proud owner and founder of My Complex Canine!
By taking time to understand your canine friend, they will choose to work with you and you will make a great partnership!
Our positive reward and game based training approach will help you to train your puppy and dog, whilst having fun in the process!
I have always had a strong interest in people, behaviour and learning and after college I successfully graduated with a BSc Hons in Psychology. I then spent ten years working in learning and development roles in professional services, higher education and educational charities in London. With an understanding of learning theory and passion in making learning fun and rewarding I started to consider how this could combine with my passion for animals.
Following a few years volunteering in the kennels with Guide Dogs, I then made the transition to working with rescue dogs at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, whilst continuing to volunteer at the RSPCA. Having seen first-hand the many dogs and puppies that end up in rescue, I am really keen to help develop positive connections between dogs and humans and ensure as many dogs as possible stay in their forever home! I have a Level 5 Dog Behaviour Practitioner Diploma (with distinction) and I am a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), which means having gained the relevant academic qualifications, I am now gaining the practical experience necessary for full membership.
Having been a puppy parent to my boy Harley (featured in my profile pic), I know that it is not always easy and at times can be rather challenging. The good news is Puppy School can help you to teach your puppy valuable life skills and build a lifelong relationship using positive, reward based methods, whilst having lots of fun too!! I look forward to meeting you and your new puppy very soon.
