My name is Maureen Grant (Mo to everyone who knows me!)
I’m very proud to be the owner and director of LoveDog Grooming and Daycare Ltd.
I’ve been grooming dogs for many years and I’m extremely passionate about it. Each dog who enters my salon is treated with expert care and attention by myself and my amazing team.
We make sure every dog is comfortable and given the very best possible treatement during each visit to our salon in Johnstone. The welfare of every dog is of paramount importance in everything we do. We genuinley love our dogs. Hence the name!
We offer free face and nail trims between grooms. No appointments required just pop in.
Our highly skilled team are here for any questions you have so please do give us a call, drop us an email or ping us a message on Facebook (see the chat icon at the bottom of each page).
We are all doggie mums at LDG and we completely understand how stressful it can be leaving your puppy to be groomed.
Unfortunately if you’re a little worried then your puppy knows this and can quickly become a big bit worried! Positive confident handling is key to your puppy settling in with us we will always be completely honest with you if we feel we need to do some additional work to help your puppy settle.
Handle your puppy, paws and pads and touch nails. This really does help to de-sensitise your puppy who may not like their paws being touched.
Make it fun with lots of praise!
For new puppy owners please get your puppy used to the grooming process as soon as possible, pop in with your new pride and joy for a face or nail trim or book in for a wee bath and tidy. Who does not love to meet a new puppy!
If for whatever reason are looking for a new groomer, we would love the opportunity to work with you and your dog.
It is essential that you provide as much information as you can regarding your dogs health & any anxieties they may have.
Also advise us of any issues the previous groomer informed you of and of course any existing dietary or skin problems.
We prefer for dogs to book in regularly with the same groomer for consistency but we appreciate this is not always possible.
We will work with you and your pet to make the transition over to LoveDog as stress free as possible.
We are fully insured and doggy first aid trained and are licensed by Renfrewshire council to facilitate 12 dogs in our Daycare centre.
After lockdown we found that many new puppies bought during this time had rarely spent time outwith or away from their family and had spent little time with other dogs.
Our Daycare has brought many a nervous dog out of their shell and boosted their confidence through socialisation with other dogs and fun time spent away from their family.
Our Daycare is not only great for exercise and tiring your dog out it is also excellent for mental stimulation through organised activities such as agility exercises.
Our Daycare centre is open Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 18:00 and on a Friday 08:00 to 16:00. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Have you ever thought about a career in dog grooming ? We have trained a number of groomers all of whom have gone on to have a successful career in the industry.
Or would you simply like to groom your own dog at home? No problem!
We can also help with this and advise on the best equipment to purchase.
Get in touch if you’re interested in finding out more.
By popular demand we have recently started running coat maintenance classes for our customers.
The class is designed to explain the importance of maintaining a healthy well groomed coat on your dog, the best way to go about it and what equipment you need.
The course is practical and very much hands on so it’s perfect for both you and your fluffy friend to attend!
I’m Maureen Grant, owner and director of LoveDog. Thanks so much for visiting our website and finding out more about my business and my incredible team.
I’m very proud of my business and my amazing team.
I’ve been grooming dogs for many years. My passion for providing beautiful grooms is secondary to the welfare of each individual dog that enters my salon. I treat each dog as I would treat my own.
Communication between ourselves and our customers is key to our success in supporting and providing the best possible experience for your dog. At LDG we tailor the groom to suit your dog, and as a team we instinctively help one another to best support your dog.
Sometimes an extra pair of hands to hug or an additional reassuring soothing voice makes all the difference to settle a nervous pup.
At LoveDog we groom all dogs, all ages, all breeds and all behaviours.
Understanding dogs behaviour and how they show anxiety is so important in confidently handling a dog effectively.
At LDG we strive to build up confidence where required and break down barriers and de-sensitise any worries your dog may have whilst being groomed.
I continue to learn and keep my skills updated with changes and progression in the dog grooming industry. The same goes for my talented team.
I am a member of PIF Pet industry Federation Groomers spotlight, the professional organisation for qualified groomers.
I am a qualified dog groomer, attaining a City and Guilds diploma in dog grooming.
I hold a Diploma in training management and I’m currently studying diploma in dog behaviour with the British college of K9 studies. The learning never stops!
For 7 years In a row LDG had been listed in the top 3 dog groomers in Renfrewshire by best rated.
We were also been awarded Best Dog Grooming Business in Renfrewshire at the Scottish business awards 2021, then went one better the following year by winning Best Dog Grooming Business in the whole of Scotland in 2022!
A tremendous achievement and one we are all very proud of.
