Love Cats Pet Sitters – Wimbledon Chase

Be the first to review

How does it work?

Love Cats will visit your pet each day in your home while you’re away, making either one or two visits, as you require. We fundamentally believe that cats are much happier in their own environment than in a cattery. They get to keep their routine when yours has changed.

All cats are different (just like people!) – getting to know each cat individually is just about the best thing about our job. It’s therefore essential that we meet you and your pet beforehand to make notes and fully understand their needs. We also aim to have the same sitter visit your pet each time – we have seen relationships build beautifully over time, even with very shy and nervous cats.

Once you contact us, either via the Time to pet app or by email/phone, we’ll assess which of the Love Cats team will be the most appropriate pet sitter for you, based primarily on your location and the dates you’re away but also considering whether your cat has specific medical needs etc.

The pet sitter will then contact you to arrange a convenient time to meet when they’ll get to know your cat(s) as much as possible as well as checking the details added to your account ….. including vet details, emergency contact information, information about your home (including alarm details, parking restrictions etc.), feeding details, litter tray requirements, personality and routine. Any additional requirements (such as watering plants, bringing in post, closing/opening curtains) will be noted at this time.

Love Cats loves your cats when you can’t!

We are a small but growing team of crazy cat ladies who have been looking after precious pets in their own homes in South London since 2009.

Between us we have decades of experience owning and caring for cats – and also dogs, rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish and even dragons (of the bearded variety). Several of the team have worked closely with animal welfare and rescue charities and have professional qualifications in veterinary nursing and pet behaviour.

Being a team of this size means that we’re small enough to provide local, personal care, getting to know your pet well during our visits, but big enough to provide cover should your regular sitter not be available.

What will Love Cats do?

  • Love your cats like they are our own (and like you do). We love getting to know all the different personalities – that’s the best bit!
  • Feed, change water, clean litter tray, check that they seem well and healthy.
  • Fuss, play with and groom them (if that’s what they want). If they’re not keen on any of that, we’ll just sit with them and keep them company for a while – one of our team has gotten to know plenty of shy cats while doing her knitting!
  • Let them out / keep them in – whatever they’re used to. We want to maintain their routine as closely as possible.
  • Administer medication, if required.
  • Transport them to your vet, if an emergency arises (after speaking with you first, if possible).
  • Send you regular messages, photos and videos of what your pet gets up to when you’re away.
  • Bring in your post, water your indoor plants (and potted outdoor plants in hot, dry weather), switch lights on/off as arranged and whatever else you consider important for the security of your home whilst you’re away.
  • Keep your keys between visits away (if required) – as a spare key holder, we’ve helped many a locked-out cat owner over the years.
