At Little Orchard Dog and Cat Hotel, there are some terms and conditions to ensure pets are safe at all times during their stay. Since 1976 we have been welcoming cats and dogs from across Sussex, Surrey and Kent to our hotel in Lingfield and are proud to be a family-owned and run business that is fully licensed.

Dog and Cat Inoculations

All dogs and cats must be fully inoculated and have had the necessary annual booster injections. injections administered within the last 12 months. We ask to see valid certification from a qualified veterinary surgeon on arrival otherwise we are unable to accept your dog or cat as we must protect all of the animals in our care.

Terms of Boarding

Our terms of boarding are intended to keep all of the dogs and cats who stay with us safe.

1.  All dogs must be fully inoculated (to include: parvovirus, distemper virus, leptospirosis and hepatitis) and have the necessary annual booster injections. We also require dogs to have had a treatment for kennel cough (parainfluenza virus and bordetella bronchiseptica).
2. All cats must be fully inoculated against feline enteritis and cat flu (feline herpes virus and feline calicivirus). Cats must also have had the necessary annual booster injections. This must have been administered within the last 12 months.
3. We ask to see a valid certificate from a qualified veterinary surgeon on arrival; otherwise we are unable to accept your dog or cat, as we must protect boarding animals within our care.
4. Kennel cough: Please be aware that it is difficult for us to detect a carrier of this virus as an apparently healthy dog can enter the kennels and carry the condition.
5. Whilst every possible care and attention is given to each animal boarded at these Kennels, they are left at their owners’ own risk. Little Orchard Kennels Limited cannot be held responsible for illness or loss through any cause.
6. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform us of any existing medical condition at the time of booking. In the event of illness the owner’s designated veterinary surgeon will be called, or if necessary, our appointed veterinary surgeon will be called. A charge of £10 per vet visit will be charged to cover transport and administration. Any fees incurred for treatment are the responsibility of the owner.
7. We are happy to administer most forms of medication providing it can be safely given by a member of staff who does not hold veterinary qualifications.
8. If any dog or cat is left for seven days beyond the booked departure date without contact from the owner or a representative, the animal will be deemed abandoned. Little Orchard Kennels Limited will take steps to re-home or relocate the dog or cat to a rescue centre. All boarding fees and any other costs remain the responsibility of the owner. 
9. If any dog or cat is aggressive towards other animals or staff, Little Orchard Kennels Limited will contact the owner in order to arrange for the animal to be removed. The owner will be liable for any damage caused to the kennel buildings and runs. 
10. We welcome any items of bedding or toys owners may like to bring for their dog or cat, but we do not accept any responsibility for their condition or safe return.
11. A deposit is required for bookings in July, August, September, and at Christmas. All Bank Holidays are charged at double the daily rate. Payment will be taken for the whole period booked.  We must be notified of cancellation within 7 days of the arrival date booked, failure to do so will incur a charge of 50% of the total fee due.
12. We do not allow dogs from different families to mix together whilst out exercising. The kennels have individual runs which are divided by chain link fencing. This means dogs can see and socialise with other dogs alongside them through the fencing. Your dog may have nose to nose contact with other dogs through the fencing whilst out in their run. If you would prefer your dog to be let out separately please inform our staff when booking in.
