Situated in a hamlet called Lightwood Green, Lightwood Kennels and Cattery is easily accessible from Wrexham, Oswestry and Ellesmere, Shropshire.
As owners of the business for 10 years, our priorities are that both pet(s) and their owners feel confident and relaxed, in the knowledge that our personnel attention is given at all times.
The kennels and cattery are well separated from each other, in a countryside environment within its own three acres. Our manner and business is one of openness, in dealing with us directly and that owners are able to see where their respective pets will be spending their boarding time.

Our kennels are arranged around a large grass area, where a game of football, cricket or catch are often played (the favourite being catch).
Even when not playing the rest of the guests can enjoy a tail wagging involvement, as they watch from the security of their own kennel. Our animal boarding kennels offer spacious, individually heated bedrooms with en suite large covered runs. Various sized kennels are available, enabling us to offer boarding for small, medium, large, extra-large and family accommodation
All are provided with veterinary bedding and sleeping baskets, (or for added comfort, you may bring their own), plus room service. All guests are offered twice daily opportunities to exercise individually, whilst either a light breakfast or their main evening meal is prepared. Special diets may be supplied by the owner.

All the dogs have been fully vaccinated, minimising the risk of infection. Be sure your dog(s) have the following vaccinations; Hard Pad, Distemper, Leptospirosis and Parvo Virus (Kennel Cough). We insist that a valid certificate from a veterinary surgeon be shown on arrival.
Cattery with “home from home” comfort for your cat
Our cat chalets are set in gardens not too far from the main house, but well separated from the kennels.Feline guests can either choose to loll in the sunshine in its exterior run, or curl indoors, on their own fleece bedding. During winter months they have the added bonus in curling up on their own heated bed (most want to take them home!).
Whether inside or outside the accommodation is secure, light and uses natural air for ventilation. During their stay our felines are given their own scratch post and toys to play with, or destroy!
Again the cattery offers rooms of varying sized to cater for the individual or family of cat(s).

All cats must be inoculated and have the necessary annual booster injections against, feline infectious Enteritis and Cat Flu. We insist that a valid certificate from a veterinary surgeon be shown on arrival
