Boarding – Information on our Boarding Kennels

About

Over the years we have met many lovely dogs that have come to stay with us. We welcome all breeds and make them feel as at home as we can.

All of our boarding kennels are heated but in the winter we do like to see the dogs come in with their own coats for extra warmth.

We may be able to walk your dog/s by prior arrangement but please bear in mind this is not always possible. We have many returning customers and their dogs treat our kennels as a second home.

Terms

All dogs MUST have had intrac treatment for kennel cough at least 7 days prior to their stay with us and all vaccinations must be up to date. We do ask to see their vaccination card before they visit (please be aware if vaccination card is not correct we will not accept your dog into our Kennels, therefore it is advisable to send a photo copy of the Vac. Card several weeks before the booking date).

All new customers are urged to come and visit us before booking their dogs in to make sure the kennels are what they are looking for as leaving your dog with someone new can be just as difficult for the owner as it is for the dog.

We also advise leaving your dog with us for a night or 2 before leaving them for a longer period of time so the staff and the surroundings are more familiar.

Please call or email us to arrange a viewing of our kennels and to discuss any extra needs your dog/s may have. You can also contact us via our Contact Us page. As from June we will be offering a bathing service for your dog/s on the morning that he/she is leaving us. Please check for price.

“Ray with Lucy, she was bred by us and she is now 11 (doesn’t act it however). She is one of our regular lodgers and loves coming to stay with us, she gets thoroughly excited when she realises where she is going.”

Boarding Testimonials

Max – Boxer
We got Max as a puppy from Kilconnel Kennels over six years ago. Since then he has returned back for boarding about twice a year. When we pull up to the kennels Max always enthusiastically jumps out of the car and knows exactly where to go. The staff know and interact with him well. I’d be happy to recommend Kilconnel Kennels.

Alfie & Mia
“We have been leaving our beloved dogs Mia and Alfie in the capable hands of Leslie and the crew at Kilconnel Kennels for over 5 years. As Mia is not great with other animals, her and Alfie are given their own private paddock to play in. It’s clear that they have been having the time of their lives when they come back to us exhausted, happy and with muddy paws from their playtime.

We would recommend Kilconnel to anyone in the local area because the service is great and the price is very reasonable”

Dasher – Cocker Spaniel
We have used kilconnel kennels for over five years. It has always been a great experience, knowing our dog, Dasher, will be well looked after in a great and safe environment. Everyone at the kennels are always friendly and you can see they genuinely care about every dog there, meaning we are really comfortable trusting the welfare of our dog at Kilconnel boarding kennels. I honestly believe ‘Dasher’ looks forward to staying there! We wouldn’t use anywhere else, I don’t think our dog would let us!

Amie & Sweep
“Contented boarders Corner” they certainly enjoy themselves whenever they are in your care, although it is difficult to actually ask them the excitement they show as we approach the main entrance gives us the feeling that they are really pleased to be going on holiday too!!!!
On our return to collect them they are always in really good health and “whacked out” which goes to show us that they have always had a really fun filled stay, many thanks for the wonderful care you give to them…Amie and Sweep would like to say “woof woof” too!!!!

Our Pups – Information on our Pups

About

Here at Kilconnel Kennels we also breed beautiful puppies and we have many happy and returning customers. Please see our ‘Testimonial page’ and have a read of what they have to say. All of our pups are wormed on a regular basis and are health checked by our vet and are given the first of their primary injections. They also leave us with 4 weeks insurance, after that we do advise to continue insuring your dog.

We own all parents and they are all at the kennels to be seen.

Our Pups

West Highland White Terriers
We have no skin problems and our girls have fantastic temperaments and we have one of our founder Westie girls, Snowey to thank for that as most of our original girls are her offspring. Westies are of medium size when fully grown, therefore manageable in small houses. They make fantastic family pets. They are fairly tolerant of rough and tumble with children but do have their limits, it’s the terrier in them. They love exercise and will need a moderate amount.

Maltese
Maltese make great companion dogs. They are very lively and playful. They are considered to be hypoallergenic and many people who are allergic to dogs may not be allergic to the Maltese. They are ideal dogs for smaller gardens as they prefer smaller spaces.

Shih-Tzu x Bichon
Probably the most beautiful pups that we breed, also fairly non-moulting. Are born with selective and attractive colourings, and have the most beautiful and appealing little faces. Because of their petite size we feel they make ideal pets for people looking for a small but healthy dog. We cross the Shih-tzu with the Bichon to lengthen the dog’s nose to aid easier breathing.
