Kate’s K9s Ethos

‘A dog convinced against its will, is of the same opinion still.’

When we tap into the correct way of thinking, there’s a world of opportunity to help us teach our dogs get it right without using fear, force or any  gadgets invented by humans. Every service myself and the team offer is approached using a calm and consistent Dog Listening approach so that any dog in our care can trust us and therefore have loads of fun but also remain safe.

Dog Listening is an approach that am fully qualified to deliver and works with any non medical behaviour issue. An amazing approach that has changed mine and thousands of others lives. Please see the Learning to Listen page for more details.

We will board one dog or two from the same household at a time, in mine and my colleagues Emma, Renata and Joyce’s homes.  This way they receive all the attention they need and of course have lots of walks, cuddles and  the opportunity to play with our resident dogs.

While walking dogs we have a policy walking up to 5 dogs at a time on group walks and we may add our resident dog to this group too. This is so we can ensure that every dog is safe and dogs are not overwhelmed. We also ensure that your dog is matched with other dogs that they will connect with.

We are all DBS checked, have obtained a Level 2 VTQ certified qualification in pet first aid and CPR, fully licenced and insured and dogs will always travel in individual cages in a fully ventilated vehicle. We will also make sure they are comfortable and cared for while travelling.

We hope you enjoy navigating the site and if you have any questions please do contact us.

About Us

Dogs have always featured strongly in my life. I grew up with dogs as pets, and throughout my adult life, I have owned and have experience of many different breeds, including rescue dogs. It has become clear to me that our lives are enriched by the companionship of our pets; the saying  ‘dog is a man’s best friend’ has been well proven.

resigned as an Assistant Head at a secondary school to retrain as a dog behaviour specialist and pursue my dream of opening my own business working with dogs and their owners. In addition to my dog walking, dog listening and boarding business, I am keen to take my work into schools. Throughout my teaching career, I have been interested in the emotional health and wellbeing of young people.

I believe that, based on a relationship of mutual respect, the unconditional love that dogs give us could also help young people with mental health, anxiety and confidence issues. I intend to develop this business to combine my love of working with children and dogs on a therapeutic basis.  Watch this space for more details!

I pride myself on being organised, approachable and having an enthusiastic and positive approach to life. I am fully committed to helping clients to look after their pets whilst also guiding and enabling people to have the happiest life possible with their dogs
