K9 Matters has been in existence for almost 25 years but was officially registered in 2002. Unbelievable how quickly the years have passed and during this time we’ve dramatically improved the lives of hundreds of dogs and their owners!!
Our training principles are a blend of traditional wisdom, modern science and common sense! This balanced system deepens the bond between the human and canine relationship and empowering results.
Our Residential training programme are short periods of private education for your dog! He/she will have a personal trainer and live with them in their home. An excellent choice for learning – delivered clearly and resulting in a confidence more resilient dog.
You may prefer to join our indoor school for puppies and adult dogs at venues in Odiham and Fleet. We also run scheduled outdoor walk and train clinics and UK sport training in Winchfield.
We’re qualified MBIPDT and Kennel Club Assessors
K9 Matters started professionally in 2002 by Marina and Chris. We currently have a training field in Winchfield for our workshops and run weekly dog training classes in the North Warnborough Village Hall, Hook and St Phillip & St James Church Hall, Fleet.
Talented, dedicated, creative, and thoughtful are just some adjectives that have been used to describe Marina and her work with dogs. She started from competitive obedience and progressed to service and sport dogs.
A thirst for knowledge in understanding behaviour development and modification underlies her drive. She has natural intuition and a clear, calm and consistent approach in training dogs to be confident, resilient and keen to participate.
Since training dogs professionally, she has supported numerous owners dogs to become companion dogs and has resolved many complex cases.
Marina is often sought after for the strong and dynamic foundation work she does with young dogs. She believes in the value of educating dogs to confident and functional family members.
Most dogs without a job will create one, which is unlikely to be one of your choice!! Companion dog training does just that – teaches you how to educate and train your dog to be your companion. Aside sustenance…this is the absolute minimum your dog deserves and relies on you to provide!
The standard is for you and your dog to achieve the basic standard set by the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers’ (B.I.P.D.T)Â National Pet Code. Dog owners are encouraged to educate their dog in basic obedience, understand the importance of being responsible for their dog and have an awareness of the Laws that relate to dog ownership.
The main purpose of the National Code is to demonstrate that your dog is reliable and educated to behave both at home and in public in a manner that will reflect credit on the dog.
The BIPDT’s scheme consists of three levels (Bronze, Silver and Gold) and is open to all breeds over the age of six months.
