At K9 Heaven Dog Grooming we offer a number of services all of which are performed with compassion and a complete understanding of your pets needs. We offer a pick-up and drop-off service for clients who find it difficult to bring their pets to our salon.

Your Dog Is One Of A Kind
Brushing, bathing, blow-drying, ear cleaning and nail clipping are the foundations of canine grooming. All dogs should be groomed every 4-12 weeks depending on the breed. Grooming will take around 2-3 hours, again depending on the breed but may take longer on larger breeds.
Here at K9 Heaven Dog Grooming in Preston, your dog will be examined so we can discuss the grooming requirements. If your dog’s coat is matted we’ll discuss this prior to any grooming as it may be necessary to clip any matts to reduce distress to your dog. A nail clipping service is also available.

Hand Stripping
Hand stripping involves pulling out the dead outer coat of wired-haired or rough-coated breeds by hand, rather than cutting the hair with clippers. This allows a new “harsh” wire coat to grow in. Although it sounds unpleasant, it’s not painful in fact some dogs even quite enjoy it!
Bathing & Grooming
Regular grooming with a brush or comb will help keep your pet’s hair in good condition by removing dirt, spreading natural oils throughout their coat, preventing tangles and keeping their skin clean and irritant-free. Grooming is also a great time to check for fleas. Your dog should also be bathed approximately every 3 months. We use mild, safe shampoo designed especially for dogs and a thermostatically controlled drier.
Ear Cleaning
Your dog’s ears need a little basic maintenance to keep them clean and healthy. Because of the shape of a dog’s ears, dirt, parasites and bacteria can easily become trapped. Our ear cleaning service gently and effectively deals with any internal build-up of dirt and leaves your pet’s ears clean and healthy.
Anal Glands
Anal sac expression is an important service offered by good groomers. Dog’s anal glands are situated either side of the anus and usually empty when the dog defecates. Sometimes however the glands become full and blocked. This is extremely uncomfortable for your pet. Let me perform this task for you.
Coat Treatment
Sometimes your dog’s coat may become dry, flaky and dull. We can help with specially designed dog coat treatments to bring your pet’s coat back to its healthy, shiny best. Treatments include restoring the hair’s natural oils and dealing with any skin problems which may be causing your dog discomfort.
