  • Resource guarding
  • Hyperactivity
  • Fussy eating
  • Sleep issues

Maybe you have attended classes but have found they do not work for you and your dogs particularly needs. Not all dogs suit dogs training classes, they can even be stressful for some dogs and owners, cause further behaviour problems and what your dog has learnt in a confined class situation, is not always easy to transfer to where you regularly walk or exercise your dog. With a bespoke programme with a in-depth consultation and one to one sessions you get the full attention of a professional who can tailor the the programme to yours and your dogs specific needs.

Many dogs behaviour problems can stem from underlying health problems even dogs who pull on lead or will not recall can be due to something physical going, picking up speed on a walk can take weight off sore limbs or stops harnesses chafing. A high percentage of cases I see whether its dogs showing fear, restlessness or who are growling, snapping or biting in various scenarios have had something physical going on, neck injuries, joint pain, back pain, pulled muscles and gut issues are just a few of the problems I have identified along side a behaviour modification programme. A recent study by Lincoln university suggests a high percentage of dogs have pain related behaviour problems.

In addition to the behaviour and training packages at no extra cost, Jo can provide a Dynamic Dog Assessment this service is also available as a standalone service. Using a wide range of techniques I can assess your dogs comfort levels, providing observations to help assist, veterinary professional identify further areas that may be causing pain or discomfort contributing to your dog behaviour. Pain can not always be identified in a veterinary environment fear and even excitement can mask pain. I have worked with many dogs that have been examined by a vet but did not show any signs of pain during the exam however later after a full Dynamic Dog Assessment, where found to have health problems contributing to their behaviour.
