Situated in beautiful rural Northumberland countryside, Home from Home Boarding Kennels have been providing a family run, personalised boarding service to our customers cherished pets for over 30 years. 

We are a 5 star rated, fully licensed boarding kennels and members of the Pet Industry Federations UK Kennel and Cattery Association. So you can be sure that your pets will receive the best possible care and attention whilst boarding with us. 

We have The Cats Whiskers and Small Animals on site taking care of the felines and small furries.

We offer a professional grooming service, from pet bathing to expert styling in our luxury grooming parlour.

Located 10 minutes from Newcastle Airport and 15 minutes from Newcastle City Centre.

If you would like to come for a look around, you would be very welcome! Viewings are strictly by appointment only and for the kennels, we like to meet your dog too.

About Us…

We have been providing a family run pet care to residents of Northumberland and beyond for 30 years and pride ourselves on the excellent service we provide.

Our aim is to ensure that your pet’s enjoy their holiday every bit as much as you enjoy yours. We treat each pet as the individuals they are and give them the same level of care and attention that we do our own pets. 

In 2019 we were proud to be awarded a Rural Oscar from the Countryside Alliance in recognition of the service we provide to our community.

Grooming 

Undivided Attention and Attention to Detail

Amy is our groomer in residence at Home From Home. With over 5 years of experience and a Level 3 Grooming Qualification, Amy has expertly groomed dogs for hundreds of happy customers. 

Amy will perfect your pooches coat from the newly built, luxurious 4Paws parlour, situated on site at the kennels. The 4Paws parlour is equipped with everything you would want to guarantee that your dog will get the most out of a pamper session.  With one to one attention and no cages in the parlour, stress is kept to a minimum

Flexible Appointments

Your dog doesn’t need to be boarding with us to take advantage of Amy’s talents, we welcome bookings from non-boarders too!

Being on site at the kennels offers more flexibility with appointments. If you want to combine your groom with a day board, if you have something important to do, you can claim 20% off the usual day board rate in our kennels. If transport is an issue we can also collect your dogs and deliver them home after their pamper at times convenient to you. 

A Range of Options

Amy is able to offer breed standard cuts or if you would like something a little more bespoke, she can advise on something more suitable for your requirements. Hand stripping, deshedding baths, nail clipping are also services that Amy can provide.

Our Puppy Packages are the perfect introduction to grooming for your new best friend.

Small Animals

Our small animals section provides ample room for your rabbits and guinea pigs indoors and out of the elements. 

Our vivarium is suitable for small to medium sized tortoises, whilst larger tortoises can be boarded in one of the larger pens with appropriate heating provided when necessary!

Five Star Treatment… 

At Home from Home Boarding Kennels your dog will receive a five star service. 

With comfortable beds, heated kennels and a range of enrichment activities, we make every effort to ensure your dog enjoys their stay with us.

All our guests receive a minimum of two walks per day with both woodland adventures and off lead play time in our Bark Park.

Bespoke Service…

We understand that all dogs are different which is why we have a range of kenneling options available for dogs of all ages and sizes. Our daily boarding rates start from £18.50 per dog, per day, with discounts for dogs sharing accommodation. 

If it is your first time using our service, we offer a free trial day/night stay to help your dogs get used to our surroundings and give you and them peace of mind.
