Unlike dog boarding kennels, your dog will receive one to one attention from the carer and their family and taken care of as if your dog was their family pet – it will never be left alone but always with the family.
Your dog will be the only animal in our carer’s home so will receive undivided attention from our carer and avoid any possible occurrence of fighting or aggression from other dogs. All your pet’s usual routines will be maintained including: walking, feeding and sleeping arrangements at no extra cost.
Your dog will not be exposed to any risk of cross-infection which sadly is all too common in boarding kennels or to the stressful situation of other dogs constantly barking, whining and howling.
By using a home boarding service, as opposed to a pet sitting service, you can leave your home locked and secure without worry and without having to give door keys or alarm codes to relative strangers.
We consider your pet to be a member of your family and as such should be treated so.

There are no hidden costs and no extra fees to pay at Home from Home. Registration is free. Our daily rates are double on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day and all remaining Bank Holidays. Your first booking will need to be for a minimum of 3 days. This is to allow for your dog and our carer to familiarise with one another. Due to high demand, all bookings during the period 20th December through to 5th January, and between 1st August through to 31st August, must be for a minimum period of 7 days.
If you would like assistance with transporting your dog, the carer that will be looking after your dog may also be happy to collect and deliver but this varies between carers and location. Alternatively, our network of carers may be happy to assist with transport even if they are not actually looking after your dog which is included in our dog boarding services. Please let us know when you make your booking if you require this service with your dog boarding and we can see if we can assist you and discuss any costs involved.
When is the fee paid for my booking?
The fee is made up of two parts. You pay a deposit over the telephone by debit or credit card to confirm your booking and reserve the carer we have selected. The remaining balance is due when you deliver your dog to your carer and is paid directly to the carer by cash, cheque or bank transfer; please ask your carer which method they prefer.
Your deposit is only refundable if you are not happy with the carer we have selected once you have been to visit them.

Meet our Dog Carers
We have all kinds of dog carers on our register; retirees, families, single people, young and old – all having one thing in common, they are dedicated to caring for dogs. When we receive an application, they first have to fit our basic criteria: they should not be away from their home for more than 4 hours at any one time, they should have a secure garden, they should not have any dogs or cats of their own, and they should not have any pre-school children. If they fit our criteria then we arrange to interview them for suitability to our service. Only once they have passed an interview and their homes have been checked, do they come onto our register.
Your dog could not be in better hands!
Our register of carefully selected dog carers will look after your dog, as you would, in their home. Our carers do not have pets of their own and your dog will be the only dog in the house. We believe a ‘visiting’ dog staying in a home with a resident dog may create unacceptable stress and the potential for conflict. Your pet is used to having one-to-one attention at your home and we believe we should provide the same undivided attention in our carer’s homes. We are happy to accept multiple dog families as long as all the dogs live happily together.
We differ from many agencies because once we have selected a carer for you; we invite you to meet them prior to going away. If you are not happy once you have met them for whatever reason, we will introduce you to a different carer, or your deposit will be refunded in full – guaranteed.
Our carer’s provide the following:
- Your dog’s walking, feeding and sleeping patterns etc. will be maintained.
- Your dog will not be with pre-school children or other cats or dogs.
- Your dog will have access to a garden, be kept on a lead for walks, and wear one of our tags.
- Any special requests or medications will have been discussed with your carer beforehand – we ask that you discuss these again upon meeting your carer.
- Our carers have emergency support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year offering you complete peace of mind knowing you are leaving your pet with the leading agency in the UK.
- Dogs will be covered by our third party liability insurance. We recommend that you take out your own pet insurance to cover illness or injury as vet bills will be re-claimed when you return from your holiday.
