Holly and The Dogs

Be the first to review

I’m Holly 👋🏻

If you’re here, you’re probably looking for a dog walker or sitter for your Labrador. As a dog mum myself to a wonderful fox red called Edie, I understand the need for you to have complete reassurance when leaving your dog with somebody new. My job is to make this process a whole lot easier. For me, loving your Labrador as much as you do is vital.

As someone with deep understanding of the breed’s unique traits, energy levels, and exercise requirements, our walks are equipped to provide the necessary care and attention that your Labrador needs to stay happy and healthy.

The start of my business in 2018 sparked my fascination with Labradors, but it was only in March 2023 that I gathered the courage to transform my business exclusively into a Labrador-focused enterprise! The surge in Labrador puppies during the lockdown period brought an influx of these adorable companions to HATD, and it’s safe to say that it’s what made us gain recognition and become known as the go-to place for Labradors!

I take immense pride in my business, where I, as an individual, offer a personalised and tailored service. I take the time to truly know your dog as a unique individual, enabling me to support their growth, personal development, and promptly identify any behavioural changes. Together with our amazing Instagram community and the dogs from the past and present, we consider ourselves a close-knit Labrador family.

Being a passionate dog lover and enthusiast, it felt like a natural progression for me to pursue a career as a dog walker. I began caring for dogs in June 2017, and in February 2018, I made the decision to leave my photography degree at university and officially start my business. It allowed me to follow my true passion in life – caring for dogs (and capturing their precious moments through photography!). I am dedicated to dog enrichment, a strong advocate of raw feeding, an enthusiast of fox red Labradors, and when I’m not working, I cherish quality time with my own Labrador, Edie, and indulge in photography.

I look forward to meeting you and your lovely Labrador soon!

Group Walks • £18

Our aim is to focus on breed characteristics in fun, dynamic and enriching walks, ensuring we make the most out of every outing. Retrieving, swimming, scent work, and basic obedience and positive reinforcement training is practiced on every walk, whilst giving the dogs the chance to build and maintain friendships in a safe and controlled environment. Combining physical exercise with mental stimulation, it’s the perfect place for your pooch to be to socialised with likeminded dogs in groups where each dogs’ play style and preferences are matched.

Our walks are structured so I can gain leadership and trust from all my dogs. Creating strong, healthy relationships with all of my dogs as individuals is paramount, where both individually and in a pack, they can flourish. Our group walks are a minimum of an hour and we spend the majority of our walks in the gorgeous Hampshire countryside, often by water for all our water obsessed pooches.

Adventure Days • £40

Looking for more than your average walk? We organise fun, dynamic and enriching Adventure Days for your dog that will keep them coming back for more. Adventure Days also gives your dog the chance to socialise in a different perspective – each dog will experience wildlife, different terrains and be exposed to different smells, scents, whilst maintaining focus around humans and animals.

Adventure Days give your dog a fun packed day with like-minded dogs in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest, one of our gorgeous nature reserves or Hampshire beaches. They will be collected in the morning and returned in the afternoon, happy and content and eagerly awaiting your return. Adventure Days are a minimum of three hours walking time and require a trial walk beforehand to ensure your dog is suitable. Adventure Days are the perfect treat for your dog to help develop their skills and fill their lives with enrichment!

Puppy Socialisation • £28

Give your puppy a head start in life by enrolling them in socialisation sessions from as early as 12 weeks old. It’s crucial for young pups to be introduced to a variety of experiences in the world around them, including new people, places, other animals, sounds, surfaces, environments, and more. Our socialisation walks offer a safe and positive environment for your puppy to explore the outdoors and encounter new things. Using positive reinforcement techniques only, we visit different locations such as shops, cafes, markets, and even use public transportation to gradually expose your pup to different surroundings at their own pace.

During these walks, we gently guide your pup and reinforce any training they’ve received at home, while teaching them to behave calmly around various stimuli. While playtime is important for dogs, we limit and structure it in a way that ensures your puppy is guided appropriately. Our goal is to help set your puppy up for success by giving them the tools they need to navigate the world confidently and happily, whilst gradually easing them into group walks.

Home Visits • £15

We offer a convenient solution for puppies who are unable to go on walks. During our home visits, we focus on supporting and reinforcing any basic training you have in place to keep continuity, while also providing essential care such as those all important puppy snuggles, playing in the garden, ensuring lunch is given, refreshing water, and attending to any accidents. Our home visits are scheduled for half an hour and are subject to availability. A longer home visit can be requested, if required. Please note: I only support force free, positive reinforcement training techniques only. I will not use slip leads, shock/e-collars, prong collars etc to train puppies.

After puppies have received their final vaccinations, we encourage them to transition to socialisation walks and/or small group walks. It’s important to note that puppies will not be exercised for the full hour, as we carefully consider the appropriate amount of exercise they can handle.

So, how does it work?

While you are away, I will temporarily move in and take care of your Lab/s, treating them as if they were my own and ensuring their utmost comfort. My primary focus is to guarantee their happiness and maintain their regular routines. By standard, they’ll be on one of my group walks during the day, which is included in the house sitting price, and we’ll also embark on additional exciting adventures, such as evening beach trips during the summer – which is always a hit with the Labs!

Throughout my stay, I will include your Lab in my group walks and errands whenever feasible, keeping them engaged and occupied. However, I will also make sure to leave them alone for periods of time to prevent any attachment issues and ensure they get that well needed rest. In situations where multiple dogs are involved, there may be instances where some dogs stay at home while I attend to others, as space constraints may limit the number of dogs on our walks.

To ensure the perfect house sitting experience, it’s crucial for me to have the flexibility of bringing along my Labrador, Edie. She has been my trusty sidekick since she was a tiny pup, and she’s now a well-trained and well-behaved 2-year-old. Edie has been taught to respect others’ homes and follow their rules. However, I totally understand that having an extra dog around might be overwhelming for your Lab. No worries, though! If it’s too much for your pooch, I can always leave Edie at home. But let’s not forget the joy of having a playmate for the dogs! It’s always heartwarming to see them have a blast together. Flexibility is key, and I’m here to make sure everyone, dogs included, has an amazing time!

Why choose a house sitter?

This service offers a personalised approach, providing dogs with their familiar home comforts and surroundings, which they are accustomed to. This is especially advantageous for dogs who may feel unsettled when away from home. While I house sit, I will frequently update my stories (while respecting your privacy!) to ensure you can see that your Labrador is happy and everything is going smoothly.

House sitting brings an additional level of security to your home while you’re away. I will be in and out throughout the day, taking care of tasks such as collecting the post, watering plants, putting out the bins, and maintaining the cleanliness of your home. It is always my pleasure to leave the house even cleaner than when I arrived, along with a very content and joyful pooch! While you are away, I will temporarily move in and take care of your Labs/s, treating them as if they were my own and ensuring their utmost comfort. My primary focus is to guarantee their happiness and maintain their regular routines.
