Heather Walton

Having previously taught Puppy School classes in Berkshire, I’m really excited to be running classes in the North Devon area. I have been involved in dog training and walking for several years, have been a puppy walker for Guide Dogs and have volunteered for the Blue Cross for eight years, running dog safety sessions in a variety of schools. I’m part way through an Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management.

I have a special interest in the interactions between family dogs and children, including those with special needs. I have two children and three step-children (now young adults), four of whom have additional needs including autism, Down Syndrome and challenging behaviour. I have attended Dogs for Good’s PAWS (Parents Autism Workshops) and understand the challenges and joys of sharing a home with children with or without special needs and a dog! I run a smallholding in North Devon with my husband. We share our lives with two elderly ponies, six sheep, four larger than life goats and a Golden Retriever called Jess.
