Happy Tails Dog day care and home boarding

ABOUT ME

My name is Laura and that’s me in the photo with my wonderful husband Michael. I have loved animals for as long as I can remember and have dreamt of one day being able to spend more time being around them.  It wasn’t until I moved into my own home and had my very own dog (an amazing border collie called Seb who is unfortunately no longer with us) that I realised how difficult it can be to juggle everyday life with being a dog parent! I was very lucky at the time that my parents-in-law lived around the corner and were able to dog-sit for us when we worked and when we went away.  However, it wasn’t until we were getting married (and staying overnight) that we realised that we were completely stuck for dog care.  All our family and friends were invited to the wedding! I realised then how this must happen to so many other people.  I couldn’t even entertain taking my baby to a dog kennels.  Luckily we managed to find a friend of a friend to come stay in our house but a lot of people wont have this option either.

All dogs are different and some dogs also find a busy doggy day care centre just too scary! Smaller breeds and dogs who are not used to being in that type of setting really can struggle.

That’s how the small acorn of an idea of Happy Tails started.
