ABOUT ME & MY DOGS
My name is Lise Hanson and after 25 years working in mental health I have retired from senior management and now run Hanson’s Hounds. I have had dogs all of my life; I have never been without a dog or two in my family, mostly rescued dogs who hadn’t had the best start in life and so usually had a few issues and worries – be it anxiety, aggression or just confused and unsettled. I pride myself on helping those dogs re-adjust and become happy, well socialised and confident.
My contact with dogs has always been an essential part of my own wellbeing!
You can be assured I am trustworthy, dependable, level-headed and a professional in all I turn my hand to. I have high standards and having utilised dog walking & boarding services myself for at least 12 years, I believe I understand what dog owners want from someone whom they will be trusting their pet to.
I would be happy to speak to you about how I can assist you in caring for your dog so please contact me on

SHEILA
Sheila is our newest recruit and needed rehoming from the Buxton area. She is a lively 1 year old (2022) Patterdale Terrier with a lot to learn but so much love to give. She has a feisty personality and typical Terrier traits. She is incredibly smart and has settled into her new routine fairly quickly. She has oodles of energy which needs channelling in the right way. She will happily play for hours but when she’s worn herself out, she likes to curl up on my shoulders at the back of my neck for a snooze.
JEW-LI
Jew-Li came to live with us in 2020, we gave her a home after our other old girls, Nish & Otty sadly passed away at the ripe old ages of 16 & 15. Jew-Li is approximately 3 years old (2021) and came from a wonderful independent rescue in Cleveland called Maxi’s Mates. Although so young, sadly we are her third home. We know she was brought over from Romania as a street rescue and has been re-homed at least twice before coming to us. She is a clever, cheeky, busy girl and into everything; she has responded to her training really well and is very settled with us. She loves walks with her pals, playing with the boarding dogs and getting into mischief.
INSURANCE & LICENSING
I am fully insured for the services I have outlined on my website pages.
I am also fully licensed by Leeds City Council, and this means that my home and myself have been vetted and inspected to provide boarding services in line with Leeds City Councils higher standards of provision. This also gives you peace of mind that I have no convictions relating to animal welfare infringements.
I am fully DBS checked. This will reassure you that I have no current, pending or previous criminal convictions related to animal welfare or other criminal activity.
My vehicle is fully insured for my business. It is a custom rig, designed to my spec for safely transporting dogs and has been professionally fitted to a very high standard by Taylormade Solutions. There is adequate ventilation, bedding and available water.
All of the above certificates, checks and licences are available to you at assessment.
My aim is to give you peace of mind that your dog has not only been toileted but that it has been stimulated, exercised and had fun!

Your dog will enjoy our quiet, dog friendly household andwill have one to one attention and a minimum of two walks across the day plus an evening walk. Your dog will also be provided with enrichment activities to promote their physical and psychological well-being. The amount and type of exercise and enrichment are tailored to your dog’s fitness.
Boarding dogs have the same free access to my home as my resident dog. There are no segregated areas for boarding dogs, they live, just as my dog does, with the run of the house and garden. Our household runs with the dog’s welfare and safety as the priority.
I can board dogs from any area providing you can drop off and collect your dog. If you need a collection and drop off service in addition to boarding there is a charge of 45p per mile from my base in LS16.
