A family run Cumbrian Business 

Gray’s kennels were established in 1966. After 30 years we relocated the kennels to Jeffrey’s Wood so my parents could retire. With our expertise we then built brand new state of the art kennels within 30 acres of idyllic meadows and woodland. In 2020 we won the much sought after CorporateLiveWire ‘North England’ Dog Boarding Service of the Year Award.

Fully qualified staff 

Our staff are all fully trained and have a lot of experience. Most have been with us for many years as we are conscious that the longer our staff stay with us the better they get to know your dogs. 

We allow our staff plenty of time to spend with the animals so that they can get to know the individual needs of each dog. 

Inspections welcome 

Leaving a dog in kennels can be worrying for pet owners, so we welcome any dog owners who wish to inspect our facilities before booking or to contact us for further information.

What we offer

Excellent exercise facilities

We have superior exercise facilities where dogs are given the freedom of securely enclosed fields or lead walks through our woodland. Biddable dogs can also have a gallop throughout.

Warm Spacious Kennels

Gray’s Kennels are based near Carlisle in Cumbria and offer high quality boarding kennels for dogs. With our open plan spacious and heated kennels your pet will feel ‘at home and not alone’. The kennel block is fully protected with an alarm system and the exterior of our kennels is protected with a laser alert system.

Specialist Diets Catered For

We have a range of different dried and canned foods including a hypoallergenic gluten free complete food though you are very welcome to bring your own. We will administer medication at no extra cost 1, 2 or 3 times a day. Diet and medical needs are recorded on arrival and strictly adhered to.

Beautiful walks

Dogs are walked in 13 acres of beautiful woodland.

We have a large pond for dogs that love to splash!

Prices

Customers are charged for the day they arrive and the day the leave, inclusive. We do not have a specified collection or drop off time. The only requirement is that its within our opening times.

We very much welcome customers to come and inspect our facilities. By appointment is not necessary, though during opening times is.

Grooming

Gray’s Kennels are based near Carlisle in Cumbria and offer a professional dog grooming service. I was trained by my father over 25 years ago. Your pet will be given lots of love and attention to make their groom as stress-free as possible.
