Short term boarding for dogs in Greenhalgh

Our friendly team treat each dog like their own, so you can be sure that your dog will enjoy their stay with us. 
 
Our boarding kennels
We have a range of kennels, suitable for individual dogs and larger family units. If you would like your dogs to stay together this can often be accommodated and please request this when booking. All kennels are cleaned daily and fresh drinking water is supplied every morning and kept topped up throughout the day. If you wish to bring any comforts from home you are more than welcome, but blankets are provided when required. 
At Fur Cottage Kennels & Cattery, you are welcome to visit and view the kennels before booking, but please ring in advance to ensure that we can facilitate your request. All dogs must be vaccinated at least 7 days prior to boarding these are mandatory.  If you are vaccinating your dog with the Kennel Cough vaccine this must be done at least 14 days prior to boarding. Kennel Cough vaccine is not mandatory to board. Dogs brought to the kennels during the 14 day period will not be able to board. Animals brought without proof of vaccinations will be unable to board.
 
Making friends
 
All dogs will be exercised daily and have access to our outdoor runs. If you are happy for them to, your dog will also have the option to socialise with other friendly dogs and may even make a friend. 
Interaction is key and that’s why we ensure that all our dogs are given one to one attention at least once a day, with lots of fun and exercise throughout their stay. All outdoor runs are covered so that they can be outside whatever the weather. 
In addition to exercise and daily walks. 
 
Day care available
 
We also have places for daytime only care available, perfect if you work long hours or are away for the day on business.
 
Fully insured and licensed 
 
All of our staff are highly trained and experienced. We are also fully insured and hold all relevant licences. 
 
Cattery also on site 
 
If you have a feline friend who needs overnight care, then you’ve come to the right place. We also have a cattery on site.
 
Dog training for all breeds
 
For one-to-one sessions or residential training, the team at Fur Cottage Kennels & Cattery in Greenhalgh can create a plan to suit both yours and your dogs requirements. It is common knowledge that some breeds are harder to train than others, but with 25 years of experience in the industry we are confident that our training programme will work for your dog. 
 
Residential training courses
 
If you are at a loss with your dogs behaviour and don’t know where to turn next, get in touch with us. Our residential training courses are perfect for dogs who are showing signs of aggression or reactivity in certain environments. We have found that dogs respond best to training which is frequent, repetitive and consistent and depending on your dogs needs, we will spend up to 4 hours a day on training and combine this with positive reinforcement through play.

One-to-one training sessions
 
In additional to our residential training service, we also offer one-to-one training sessions, aiming to focus on your relationship with your dog and improve the ways in which you communicate. We recommend beginning training sessions whilst your dog is still young as they are much more likely to respond in a positive manner.
