I am very proud to be a qualified dog trainer and full member of the IMDT (Institute of Modern Dog Trainers).
My name is Ellen Davies. From a very young age I knew I wanted to work with animals. I grew up with dogs, cats and horses and have always found it fascinating to see how they behave and learn. I started out working in pet shops whilst at School then a few years later in 2004 I decided to go to college to become a Veterinary Nurse. I qualified in 2010 and went on to be the Head Veterinary Nurse in a Veterinary Surgery in the outskirts of Woking.Â
I have always had the ambition to work for myself so shortly after achieving my Veterinary Nursing qualification, I started up my own small business looking after peoples cats and dogs whilst their owners were away. This then spread to dog walking and cat sitting on a more regular basis. (See Home Visits / Dog Walking page)
Â
After many years of attending a dog agility club with my little Jack Russell, Marley, I decided my passion extended to dog training. In 2010 I opened my own dog agility club with a fellow Vet Nurse. We run Four Paws Agility Club in Mayford, Surrey. We decided to open a ‘Fun Agility Club’ as we found the pressure of competing for some dog owners can put them off of starting such an amazing sport.
Soon after starting my agility club I took the necessary qualifications needed to become a Dog Trainer. I own two rescue dogs that have a past of being badly mistreated by previous owners and I know from experience how hard it is to overcome their experiences and move forward towards a better life. Â
Using the techniques I was taught and adapting my lifestyle for the better, my dogs are now much more relaxed and can just be dogs without stress. I have continued to offer 1-2-1 home consultations to help owners and their dogs to achieve the same success I have. (See Dog Training / Behaviour page).
In addition to home consultations, I also run Four Paws Puppy Training and Socialisation on a Tuesday evening and Saturday morning in Ash and Tongham, Surrey. As I had had such great success with my home consultations for adult dogs, I realised it would be greatly beneficial to run puppy classes to help prevent behavioural problems in the future. Using my dog training background, I train and advise owners how best to raise their puppies to be happy, well rounded and well socialised in the most natural and positive way. In addition to puppy training, I also offer Puppy Agility and Obedience courses.  (See Puppy Training page and Dog Training / Behaviour page).
