Fernilea is a 5 star licensed kennels and is one of the leading kennels in the North West of England. We are proud of our reputation and work hard whilst having fun to achieve it. As dog owners ourselves, we know how important it is for your dog to be happy and content. Our aim at Fernilea is to give our guests the undivided attention they need to suit their personal requirements during their stay with us.

About Fernilea

Fernilea was originally owned and ran by Margaret Sheil and Rebecca O’Donnell. We went into partnership and built the kennels from scratch to the highest standards after realising we had the same dream; which was to run our own kennels and make a difference in the animal care industry. We were both potty about dogs and felt that it was the best decision we have ever made.

Margaret has sadly passed away after a prolonged illness in July 2020. However she leaves her legacy behind which will continue with Rebecca and the rest of the team.

At Fernilea we provide a high standard of facilities, a wide selection of branded food (you can bring your own if you prefer),  plenty of exercise, excellent hygiene as well as  experienced, qualified, caring staff and most of all plenty of T.L.C. All of these are vital to the wellbeing of your pet.

 All our four legged friends are exercised individually so they can have some one on one time with the staff.

We are very lucky to have a fabulous team of dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic dog mad staff who have over 120 years of combined experience in the animal care industry between us.

Regular guests at Fernilea benefit from the whole team’s personal knowledge of each individual dog and its requirements. Every dog is different and they never cease to surprise us. Life at Fernilea is never boring!
