Kennels

Spring 2021 a brand new, bespoke, kennel facility was built. Each kennel exceeding the DEFRA retulation requirements for size and with extra think composite walls the bedrooms stay cool in summer and warm in winter, individually heated and thermostatically controlled. Each kennel has the luxury of an outside, covered area and a bedroom with double glazed frontage.

Whilst enjoying the choice of their bedroom or outside area throughout the day they also get the chance to stretch their legs ‘off lead’ in one of our secure exercise yards. Each guest will have access to the exercise area at least 4 times per day.

Some dogs can be a little unsure when they first come to stay, not a problem, we make sure we move at their pace. If they are nervous, we will sit in the kennel next to them and let them get used to us. This may mean it takes several minutes before they let us stroke them and then another few minutes before we can put a lead on them to take them for exercise… whatever it takes to put them at ease is fine by us, we work at the pace set by our guest and not the other way round and if it is a walk in the fields that they enjoy more than anything then that can be arranged as well.

Cattey

Following an extensive renovation project in 2017, the pens in our cattery each have a spacious bedroom with a large double-glazed window looking out onto the individual outside enclosure with bespoke climbing frames/seats. The bedrooms have 2 raised shelves allowing them to access different levels and sit and watch the world go by. The majority of our pens are south facing which means they have a lovely sunny vista (when the sun is out!).

We can provide all the bedding and blankets or alternatively you are welcome to bring your own so that there is a familiar smell of home. We also provide ladders for our older guests to make sure they can make the most of the pens and the different levels. That said, if your cat is enjoying their twilight years then the pens can be set up so that everything is at floor level and the heating can be supplied 24/7 if required.

All pens are heated in the colder months to ensure a toasty night’s sleep. We stock a large range of wet and dry food including Felix, Whiskas, Sheba, Royal Canin and Iams. If we don’t stock the food you use you are welcome to bring that along.

If your cat is on medication, then please do not worry, we will ensure the required tablets, injections or liquid are administered how you require at the times you require (as long as it isn’t midnight or the early hours!). The team are very dedicated and will make sure they spend time with all our guests to try and make sure their stay is as much home from home as we can.

Our 10 purpose built hutches have been designed to ensure our guests have ample space in a nice relaxing environment.

The retreat has been decorated in a pale soothing colour scheme and the hutches are double walled made from top quality timber. In fact they are so good we reckon your pet won’t want to go home!

The size of each hutch is 22.5″ x 44.8″ x 28″ (57cm x 113cm x 70cm). We provide a generous covering of wood shavings throughout

the entire hutch and a lovely hay bed in the corner for them to snuggle down in. Fresh vegetables are supplied daily along with their regular daily food and water. When the sun is out we make sure our rabbit and guinea-pig guests get to make the most of it with time in the outdoor run which is in a lovely grassy area.

We stock a range of food including Burgess Excel and Pets at Home nuggets along with fresh veg.

We are able to accommodate indoor pets using carpet tiles rather than wood shavings.
