Conveniently located on the edge of Chesterfield (just off the A61/Dronfield By-Pass), easily accessed from Sheffield & the M1, and set within its own private woodlands, Dunston Lodge offers boarding 365 days a year for short and long-term stays, including day boarding.
Dunston Lodge’s grooming salon, run by our fully qualified groomer, offers a full range of dog grooming services, to dogs boarding with us and as a standalone service.
As a family business, established over 30 years ago, we have an enviably reputation that stretches across the East Midlands/Yorkshire regions & beyond, and pride ourselves in offering the best possible service and care for dogs.
You can be assured that we have a notably high staff to dog ratio, with a large team of loyal and highly experienced staff, who work hard to provide individual care and a professional service; treating every dog as if they were our own.
As dog owners ourselves we understand how difficult it can be to leave your dog in the care of someone else, especially for the first time. At Dunston Lodge we welcome visitors at anytime during our opening hours, we are on hand to answer any queries and keep you fully informed of your dog’s well-being while they stay with us.
With daily health checks, a vet on call 24 hours a day, and a full security system, including grounds covered by CCTV, you can go away with the peace of mind and reassurance that your dog is in safe hands.

Dog Boarding
Boarding for dogs and overnight accommodation
Dunston Lodge welcomes all breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs, including those with specific dietary or medical needs. We have single, double and family rooms available.
All dogs boarding at Dunston Lodge are able to:
- Relax and play, in large, spacious rooms which all have an indoor sleeping area, and an outdoor, covered play areas;
- Enjoy walks, at least twice a day, in our private woodlands; and have extra walks & extended walks on request;
- Sleep in heated rooms, with a supply of warm, cosy blankets, beds and bedding; carpets may also be made available;
- Eat, at least twice a day, the same food as they would have at home, choosing from the large selection of branded dog foods on our menu;
- Receive daily health checks, and enjoy time and affection from our dedicated team;
- Have any necessary medication administered to them, as instructed by their owner;
- Are kept safe & secure in the knowledge that a vet is on call 24 hours a day, and that our security systems are in operation, including CCTV.
- Are bathed & blow-dried before going home, and clipped/groomed (if requested) so that they go home feeling a fully pampered pooch.
For further information on our boarding services please feel free to visit us, we welcome viewings at any time, although late morning or late afternoons (after morning/afternoon walks) are preferable so that we have plenty of time to show you around and answer any queries.

Day Care
Day Care and Day Boarding
Should you need to be away from home for long periods during the day, either to work, perhaps to attend a wedding or enjoy Christmas shopping for the day, it is important to know that you do not need to leave your dog alone at home all day on its own.
As well as overnight accommodation, Dunston Lodge offers a day care and day boarding service. Your dog can be dropped off at Dunston Lodge from 8:30am on weekdays and 9am on weekends, and collected up until 5pm on any day.
While your dog stays with us they will receive the same care and services, as if they are boarding with us, enjoying walks in our private woodlands, being fed the same food as they would have at home, surrounded by the company of other dogs, and our dedicated team of staff who are on hand to give them lots of time, care and affection.
Our ‘Pamper Days’ mean that while your dog stays with us for the day they will also receive a bath/blow-dry and any of the other grooming services you have chosen for them. We can also arrange for a professional photographer to come and capture some special memories with you, your family and your pampered pooch, while they are looking their best.
Day care/boarding is offered as a one-off arrangement for certain occasions, or long-term arrangements for work purposes can also be arranged with us. Prices are £25.00 per day. Please contact us to find out more.
Dog Grooming
A full range of dog grooming services
Headed by our amazing & fully qualified groomer, our dog grooming salon offers a full range of dog grooming service for dogs boarding with us and as a standalone service.
From a bath and blow dry, to a hydrobath treatment and full bespoke grooming service, Dunston Lodge offers the convenience that your dog can be dropped off from as early as 8:30am and collected up to 4.30pm.
All breeds of dog are welcome and weekend appointments are available on request.
On arrival full details of the style you would like your dog to be groomed to will be taken. A price guide is available, however prices will depend on your dog’s coat type and the condition of their coat prior to grooming.
Dogs enjoying one of our ‘Pamper Days’ will also be treated to lunch and walks in our private woodland.

Grooming Price List

Our fully qualified, resident groomer, Sanya, offers a full range of dog grooming services. Your dog can be groomed whilst boarding with us or just book in for a cut. Or why not bring them for the day and they will get a full groom, lunch and walks in our woodland while they are here.
We offer a hydrobath treatment and bespoke grooming and all breeds are welcome.
We can also offer weekend appointment on request.
Full Groom
Our full groom includes hydro bath, towel dry, bespoke styling, nail clipping and blow dry.

Food
A wide range of branded food available
At Dunston Lodge we feed dogs the same food as they would have at home, as instructed by owners. Our kitchen stocks a wide range of branded dog foods, including the following brands. If you prefer you can supply your own food, although we do not offer a discount for doing so. If you are uncertain about whether or not we stock the food your dog prefers, or whether to bring your own food please just give us a call and we’d be happy to talk through your requirements.
