A little about us!

Established in 1979 by Raymond & Kathleen, Dukes Barn Farm Boarding Kennels and Cattery is a family run business providing the best quality of care to your pets. We pride ourselves on providing 5 star animal care at its very best!
We are a licensed and insured establishment with a very experienced team, providing owners with peace of mind that their beloved furry friends are being cared for to the very highest standard. Our staff are also qualified in a variety of areas including cat and canine care, pet first aid and MSc in Animal Science, 
​Here, at Dukes Barn Farm, we offer quality care for all breeds of dogs and cats. We understand that your pet is a member of your family, and we only know you want the best for them, so that’s what we provide.
Over the years, the team at Dukes Barn Farm has worked hard to build our reputation for friendly, personal services tailored to each individual pet and their owners. Our caring approach has earned us the loyalty of clients from all around the North West area, many of whom return year after year.

Our experienced animal care professionals are recommended by many local veterinary surgeons, and we have vets on call.
Our team of professionals live on site and are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our facilities are well maintained, safe and clean. Once your pet leaves, we ensure that all rooms are cleaned and disinfected and left to stand for 24 hours before the next arrive.​  Your pets’s biosecurity is very important to us. There is always someone on-site 24 hours.

Our kennels are indoors and fully heated with a a large secure outdoor doggy playtime enclosure where they will have access to a variety of enrichment activities including tunnels, soft play equipment, raised platforms and wide range of toys.

Our cattery is located within a double-glazed heated building, offering your cat a safe and warm private room whilst on their holidays. We provide a fun and stimulating environment to ensure their stay is as interactive as possible.

Kennels

All our rooms are individual. Dogs from the same family are welcome to stay together. We have a variety of sized rooms to cater for larger families. All kennels are individually heated, and we do provide all baskets and beddings, but encourage owners to bring their own. We believe that home comforts help the settling process and are happy for you to bring anything you feel your pet will benefit from.

​Our friendly, affectionate team will ensure that your furry friends never get bored or lonely. To keep them healthy and happy, we offer regular one-to-one playtime in our secure grassed exercise field, where they have access to a variety of enrichment activities including tunnels, soft play equipment, raised platforms and a wide range of toys but of course, feel free to also bring along their own favourite toys. All the dogs in our care are offered a minimum of four opportunities throughout the day to toilet and exercise. Dogs are exercised individually or with their housemates. 

Cattery

Our cattery facilities are located within a double-glazed heated purpose-built building, providing a safe and warm environment whilst your cat is in our care. We offer spacious individual rooms but can also cater for multi-cat families. We provide a fun and stimulating environment to ensure their stay is as interactive as possible. Each room has an activity wall including shelves, wall mounted climbing pole, scratching tower and sleeping areas at different heights which allows space to climb, scratch, hide, play and sleep.
Our cattery facilities are all indoors. This helps maintain our biosecurity and minimizes the risk of disease.
