Dogs Doing Better are based in the heart of the South Down National Park in Petworth West Sussex and we have been trained by the UK’s leading dog trainer and behaviour education and accreditation body The IMDT – The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.
We feel it is vital that the dog is trained in a way that the dog can be their natural self and that the training plan is not only fun but fits within the owners lifestyle so they are empowered to train their dog effectively.
The greatest gift is to connect with your dog and that can begin with puppy training, further training or an activity with your dog such as agility or pet gun dog training. We can help you find what motivates your dog and to partake in activities both you and your dog will enjoy. We all want the best for our animals and here we use a positive way of training so you and your dog are happy and comfortable so you are able to enjoy the sessions spent with Dogs Doing Better.
I have had various dogs in my life from puppy training a guide dog, rehoming a family friend’s Beagle, rescue dogs and gun dog trained Labradors. They have all had their challenges which has made me determined to learn from each of them and expand my knowledge of the canine mind. I wanted to study with an accredited organisation with high standards of welfare and found this with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT).
Alongside practical training I hold Level 3 Learning, Motivation & Reinforcement, Understanding and Working with Canine Behaviour. I am presently studying Level 4 Consultations and Functions of Behaviour. I am constantly striving to enhance my knowledge with continuous professional development studies.
