Welcome to Digs for Dogs! Having been lovers of both dogs and travel for many years, we understand how difficult it is to leave your beloved pet when you want to go away. We have tried both kennels and house sitters for our dogs and always felt a little guilty or apprehensive leaving them!

When your dog comes to stay with us….

He or she is treated like one of ours, from being walked, cuddled and played with to being allowed to romp in the garden and the pond. Most doggy guests soon become part of the pack and enjoy barking at passers by on the footpath and competing for space on the sofa. Your dog will be well entertained, although we would like to meet him or her first! Please note that we only offer overnight stays (not regular day boarding).

To contact us, please fill in the Enquiry Form.

When you bring your dog to come and stay, don’t forget:

  • His/her food and treats
  • Detailed feeding instructions and food bowl
  • Bed or Crate
  • Lead/Harness
  • Any Medications required
  • Vet details and proof of up to date vaccination

Please note that we do prefer puppies under 6 months to come with a crate – this just makes house training so much easier!

Further Information

I have had dogs of all shapes and sizes from an early age and would never be without them! We have three friendly, neutered dogs, who are used to other canine visitors and would love some assistance with rabbit chasing around the wood pile! They live in the house with us, but always have access to the garden, which is huge, fully fenced and the perfect playground. We have chickens too, but these are securely fenced in. My horse and his friend are also occasionally on the property, but they are fine with dogs, as long as they are not aggressive.

Please note that we are not comfortable with bull terrier type breeds (our dogs have had some negative encounters) or very geriatric dogs (they generally don’t do well in a strange environment and would do better with a house sitter in their own environment). We always arrange an introductory visit prior to your dogs stay, so that you and your dogs can see their holiday accommodation and meet our dogs.

Rates

1 adult dog: £30 per night (£28 per night for repeat customers)

1 additional dog: £20 per night
Puppies under 1 year: £35 per night*

* This covers extra cleaning, chewed shoes and furniture, lost sleep due to overnight whimpering or pee excursions into the garden, retrieving toys from the pond… you get the picture!

Day Boarding – same rates as above (the drop off and pick up tend to be quite disruptive to our daily schedule, which is why we don’t offer this on a regular basis).

Payment

Once we have accepted your booking, we will send you an invoice by email and you can pay by bank transfer. This invoice is also your booking confirmation.

Cancellation Policy*

Within 1 week of your dog’s stay: 90% refund
Within 48 hours of your dog’s  stay: 50% refund

* We do plan our own travels and activities around our bookings, so hope that you understand why this is our policy!
