WELCOME TO HAPPY PETZ

Towards the end of 2007, I set my heart on running my own business, working with the animals I love. My main objective was to allow all the responsible people out there to feel they could own a pet, look after it properly and still work full time. I want to provide help to owners who have always wanted a pet but felt they never could due to their circumstances.

From a small start, I have gained regular clients and look after a huge variety of pets such as dogs, cats, all small mammals, birds, fish, reptiles etc.

We offer Dog Walking Services and more throughout FailsworthChaddertonRoytonOldham and Manchester.

Dog Walks

Our walks are fun filled and action packed for those lively dogs who have plenty of energy to burn off, or for those less energetic dogs they can just go for a nice leisurely stroll and do things at their own pace. We cater for every dog’s ability. We aim to give all the dogs as much physical and mental stimulation and interaction as possible as boredom and insufficient exercise can lead to destructive behaviour such as chewing, barking and maybe even aggression.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and up to date with all the appropriate vaccinations, we will ask to see a valid veterinary certificate on first consultation, the consultation will be free of charge, on the first visit we will discuss the needs of your pet/pets, complete our paper work which includes our contract and veterinary details, a deposit is required when making a booking and is non refundable. It also gives us the opportunity to come and meet n greet both you and your pet/pets so that you can get to know us better and we get to know you and for you to raise any questions and concerns that you may have.

Your dog may be walked in a group or on its own depending on the behaviour of your dog. Dogs walked in a group must not show any signs of aggressive behaviour to other dogs or humans.

Dogs that need one on one walking will be done at an additional cost, if we feel that your dogs behaviour is improving we will slowly start introducing them into group walks and start developing their social skills depending on the severity of their aggression, your dog may not have any issues and you just may wish that your dog has one to one walks.

Doggy Days Out

We play plenty of games and take plenty of toys for them to enjoy, it’s a fantastic day out and we come back just as happy, content and as tired as the dogs. THESE ARE ONES NOT TO BE MISSED AND GET FULLY BOOKED VERY QUICKLY.

All new dogs that have never been on a doggy’s day out before must be walked for at least four weeks prior to making a booking and assessed before authorisation is given to attend the trips. Your dog must not show any signs of aggression towards other dogs or humans and must be able to travel well in transit. A risk assessment is always done first prior to any dogs been walked in a new location. Your dog’s health and safety is always paramount no matter what.

Dog Home Boarding

You can be away from home safe in the knowledge that your pet/pets are in our capable and experienced hands. We believe that we offer a unique service that when your dog comes to stay with us in the warmth and comfort of our home they will not be stuck in the house all day but they will be out with us all day running round, having fun and meeting new doggy friends, although this is dependent on their age and ability, some dogs just wish to take it easy and just go at their own pace and watch the other dogs run round.

All dogs MUST be fully wormed, fleed and fully vaccinated we will ask to see a valid veterinary certificate. Upon consultation where we come and meet and greet both you and your pet/pets we will complete our paperwork which includes our contract and veterinary details and also gives you the opportunity to discuss the level of care that you dog needs, please make sure you provide plenty of food, bedding and any toys as this will help your dog settle and provide stability throughout their stay. A deposit is required on day of booking which is none refundable. Fully licenced and insured (small dogs only).

Dog Training

This is Molly. She is a 7yr old German Sheppard. Molly’s owners originally approached me to walk Molly as they were having problems with her behaviour. When I first met Molly she was a very unsociable dog, which led to some quite aggressive behaviour.

Whenever I took Molly out she had to be muzzled and could never be let off the lead, as she didn’t like the outside world and felt very threatened by other dogs and people. I put in 4-6 months worth of time, care, and a lot of love and attention in order to train Molly to start relaxing and understanding that life was much better than she thought. I slowly introduced Molly to other dogs and people.

This has now gladly led to her no longer needing to wear a muzzle and she is able to run around the park playing with all my other charges without a lead. It’s amazing to see Molly is no longer showing signs of abnormal behaviour and has made great improvement, which gives me great job satisfaction. I can quite truly state that Molly’s owners can now love and enjoy the dog that they thought they never could.

Molly’s improvement is clear to see. This has now enabled her to be invited on doggy day trips out. To have fun, play and enjoy her days out with her other friends.
