Daybreaks Trust Greyhound Rescue and Rehoming Charity

 Welcome to Daybreaks Kennels.

We opened in Solihull on July 1st 2006.

The kennels are managed by Ruth who gave up her full time employment as a medical secretary to dedicate all her time to looking after the retired greyhounds.

Daybreaks is named after Tara, Ruth’s first greyhound whose racing name was Daybreaks Beauty.  She was adopted by Ruth from Birmingham Dogs Home after being picked up as a stray.  She was a wonderful pet.  The aim of Daybreaks is to find loving homes for greyhounds just like Tara.

The kennels are run by Ruth  who gave up her  full time employment as a medical secretary to dedicate all of her time to looking after the retired greyhounds. Our kennels are open dailan from 10am until 4pm and you can arrange a viewing time to suit your needs. We have many volunteers who help at ‘The Trust’ all of whom have been working actively in greyhound rescue and adoption for many years and all have owned their own greyhounds.

Though the dogs we rehome are retired from the racing industry retirement does not mean old. Nothing could be further from the truth. Most greyhounds on average retire from racing aged anything between 18 months and 4 years old.

These wonderful dogs are good with children, are very placid and need only a couple of short walks a day.
