Danemere is fully licensed, by WYCHAVON DISTRICT COUNCIL( Licence No 18/06340/ANIACT) provide onsite 24/7 care, and whilst with us, your pets are insured with Petplan Sanctuary (up to £1,500 as of December 2012). As per normal insurance terms, this does not cover any pre-existing conditions. Please do advise us if your pet has a medical condition, we are fully experienced and trained in caring for those with health and medication needs and are fully supported by our local vets MacArthur Barstow & Gibbs, located only four miles away.
Due to our long serving rescue work and over 25 years caring for pets, we have had the pleasure of meeting a large range of colourful characters, and have the understanding, sensitivity and experience to provide a safe, relaxing environment and tender care for very nervous and challenging pets.
We would be very pleased to welcome you and your friend for a visit, providing them with a chance to meet us and have a good look round so that they feel more settled when they come to stay.
We have purpose built roomy, individual kennels and indoor cat pens with central heating and lighting, keeping your precious friend warm, safe and cosy. Visiting dogs are taken out in the field for a good walk twice per day, ensuring good human interaction. We pride ourselves in being able to build a relationship with each dog whilst they are boarding with us we get to know their individual characteristics, especially whilst on a walk which in turn; helps us recognise unusual behaviour and spot signs of ill health early.
For the extra energetic we can provide extra walks for an additional £5.00 per walk.
We recognise that just like us, pets have different food requirements and we ensure that all diets are catered for with the exception of raw food (due to new law requirements). If your pet is on a veterinary prescription diet we will not be able to supply this but welcome you to bring your own. If your pet is struggling to find a diet to suit, we might be able to advise on the best food for them, as we have tested just about every brand over the past decades, restoring health and vitality to the most poorly rescue dogs and cats that have sought our help.
We understand here at Danemere that pets are such a big part of the family and you cannot help but wonder how they are getting on whilst you are away. For the owners that are concerned we can provide email ‘Pupdates’ so that you know what they have been up to on their holiday along with photographs to help put your mind at rest.
We take short, long term or daily bookings, though we do advise you to book early for peak holiday periods to avoid disappointment.
We can provide a basic bath and blow dry (available by appointment at time of booking).
We have an indoor cattery, centrally heated to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the year, with large windows to provide hours of people and bird watching fun for your cat. Your cat will be given lots of human company and fuss and might even occasionally have a chance to watch a bird or small animal which is also in boarding. This does tend to keep them amused! They have now taught a parrot to ‘meow’!
The pens are designed to be roomy and comfortable, with each being large enough to house three cats from the same family. Larger families or those that simply do not enjoy being together 24/7 can request adjoining pens.
We provide comfortable bedding, food and water bowls. You are welcome to bring their own bedding and toys, however we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred during their stay. We also provide scratching posts and litter trays using an environmentally friendly wood based litter.
In line with legislation and good practice to safeguard your pet’s health, we require all cats to be fully vaccinated (within the last 12 months). The vaccination card will be requested on arrival and returned to you when you collect your pet. We apologise but we are UNABLE to accept cats without a current certificate. We will not accept cats that are on Homeopathic medications. Unfortunately we can no longer accept MALE cats over the age of 6 months that have not been neutered.
Viewing of our cattery is encouraged. We invite you to come along to meet us and our staff, ask any questions and to have a look at the cattery
Should your cat need medical attention during their stay, we will use our highly experienced and professional Vets who are always on hand and willing to visit if required, who are MacArthur Barstow & Gibbs in Hanbury Road, Droitwich, only 5 minutes way.
We are happy to take your pets to our Vets to receive continuing treatment for a pre-existing condition or check up during their stay. This will incurr a small fee towards our costs (normally £5.00). We may be able to take your pets to other vets, however this will incurr a charge of £30.00 for the first hour, and £ 20.00 for any subsequent hour or part thereof. You may arrange for a representative to transport them to the Vets, but we must have this confirmed in writing when checking in.
For those with medical needs, we are happy to administer medication and the required extra special care at no extra cost. Please ensure all medication is labelled with instructions on dosage and time to be given.
We have four purpose built kennel blocks to comfortably accommodate dogs of all sizes, and provide large or adjoining pens for family groups.
Each of our kennels has an outdoor, covered exercise area, which your dog has access to all day except in extreme weather conditions. During those balmy summer nights, we will leave the outdoor areas open to provide your pet with the chance to make the most of our rare warm nights.
During cold weather, all of our kennels are heated to maintain a comfortable temperature, and if required, selected kennels can be heated to a higher temperature for elderly and frail dogs.
We exercise all visiting dogs twice a day in our own pleasant fields, to ensure they get personal attention. Your dog might choose to make a new canine friend whilst with us, as we like to walk the dogs in pairs to provide fun and social contact. However we do realise some dogs prefer their own company, so we will happily take them out on their own. For those who are extra energetic we can provide extra walks for an additional £5 per walk.
We provide beds, comfortable vet bedding, food and water bowls. You are welcome to bring their own bedding or toys, however we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred during their stay.

The vaccination card will be requested on arrival and returned to you when you collect your pet. We apologise but unfortunately we are UNABLE to accept dogs without a current up to date vaccination card.

If your dog is on a special diet, please inform us when booking so we can ensure we have the right food available. If your dog is on a prescription diet, we are happy to feed this, but please ensure you provide enough for your pet’s entire stay.
For those with medical needs, we are happy to administer medication and the required extra special care at no extra cost. Please ensure all medication is labelled with instructions on dosage and time to be given.
Viewing of our kennels is encouraged. We invite you to bring your dog along to meet us and our staff, then take them for a pleasant walk around our fields to get used to the surroundings. This will help them to settle in quickly and be reassured they are only visiting when they come to stay.
