Hydrotherapy simply means ‘healing with water’. The hydrotherapy pool provides a non weight bearing form of exercise for juvenile or large breed dogs as well as providing excellent physical and mental stimulation.
Hydrotherapy is beneficial for the following conditions:
Steve is excited and proud of the addition of the Crossroads Hydrotherapy Centre.
“l have always enjoyed working and looking after dogs, from our kennels through to dog training, being PAT assessors and now offering hydrotherapy. It gives me great joy spending time with them. We have two fully qualified hydrotherapists to meet your pets individual requirements”
We are also certified members of NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists).
Steve Hole is our professional trainer and behaviourist having qualified with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers. We offer a range of services to suit your dog’s individual requirements including both 1-to-1 sessions and obedience classes.
All aspects of dog training are covered as we find we all learn at a different pace, animals and humans alike. Our trainers are always on hand for advice and encouragement which we all need at times!

The walls are high so shy pets can’t see their neighbours but they will have a full view of ongoing activities. All our kennels are individually heated inside with a soft down light which is very resting.
Our kennels allow up to two dogs from the same family (depending on breed) to be placed together during their stay here at Crossroads Kennels.
We ensure that all dogs are well looked after and fed to the specific requirements of the owners.
All our staff here have attended Advanced First Aid courses for Dogs, Cats and for people and training is regularly updated. We are able to administer medication but please inform us when booking if your dog has medication so we can discuss their requirements.
Your pet will be exercised individually (or together if boarding together) off lead twice a day in our secure paddocks whilst supervised. Our members of staff look forward to spending time with your dog playing ball, throwing a Frisbee or even just providing company for a more mature guest.

Welcome to Crossroads Residential Training Centre. Here at Crossroads we provide an intensive balanced training service for all your dogs needs. Steve Hole has over 20 years experience training dogs from your everyday pet dog to highly driven protection dogs. He has been training owners to train their dogs since 2007 and is able to bring that experience to the residential dogs that come in. Along with running a successful training school, Steve also runs a 5* boarding kennels and is a fully qualified Hydrotherapist with a Hydrotherapy Pool onsite.
Dogs that come to us for training have many issues that owners just can’t resolve by themselves and that’s where we come in! Using a balanced training approach we assess each dog and create a bespoke training plan for them. We work intensively with every dog daily to resolve any issues that dog may have. During your dog’s stay with us we treat it as one of our own, ensuring that they receive excellent care while they reside with us.
To name just a few!
Your dog will come to us for a month of intensive training. During this month we build a relationship with your dog to better understand its issues and needs. No one training technique is suitable for all dogs as they are as unique and individual just like us humans. So at Crossroads we spend time finding out what works for each resident and creating a Training Plan for that individual dog. Each residential dog receives multiple training sessions daily, along with exercise and mental stimulation, ensuring their stay with us is a positive and fulfilling experience. We also keep owners up to date with their dogs progress during its stay using videos, emails and photos.
We ensure that when the dogs leave us the owners are given an ongoing training plan either to maintain the dogs behaviour or to progress it further if needed. Some behaviours can be extinguished completely during the month’s stay, other behaviours may need a change of management to maintain the level of training the dog has left with. We ensure that every owner fully understands what their dogs require to enhance their lives and maintain correct behaviour.
We also offer refresher training if owners feel their dog needs additional input or just a reminder on how to behave.
At 9 years old, I won my first Junior Dog Handling competition with my Great Dane, Tara.
After that my love of dog training became my passion so I volunteered to work with animals as often as I could.
Now I am a fully Qualified dog trainer with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers enabling me to do a job I love and hope to do for many years.
As most young people, I grew up with cats, rabbits and dogs but cats and dogs were always my first love.
Our Rottweiler, Molly, and cat, Tigger, were great friends all their lives so it was no surprise I chose to become a dog groomer!
After I qualified, I opened up my own grooming parlour which I loved and 18 years later I found Crossroads Kennels. I knew from the start this would be a great opportunity for me to be with cats and dogs all day every day. I still love grooming and do it whenever I get a chance; I find bathing a dog is a very therapeutic experience for both them and me! I couldn’t ask for a better job than being part of the Crossroads team.
Ever since I was little, I have known that I wanted to work with animals. I’ve always had dogs myself, 4 at one point: a German Shepherd, Husky, Yorkshire Terrier and a medium crossbreed, along with a lovely ginger cat who lived to the ripe old age of 26.
I have been with Crossroads for nearly 10 years, starting shortly after Eve and Steve took over, and worked my way up from the bottom to now being Head Animal Carer.
For 3 years I assisted with Steve’s training classes allowing me to understand a variety of breeds and how to handle them. I don’t see Crossroads as a job but as a family, my team is great and we treat every animal in our care as if they are our own.
It’s also nice to see our guests growing up and looking forward to their visits.
Since I can remember, I have always wanted to work with animals. I have had a variety of small pets including guinea pigs, hamsters and rabbits as well as small and medium breeds of dogs. My desire to work with animals led me to complete two weeks of work experience in a veterinary hospital as well as gaining work experience in a large pet store.
I have recently graduated from Northampton University with a Distinction in FdSc Applied Animal Studies and as the course was based at Moulton College, I was able to gain experience with an even larger variety of animals as well as larger breeds of dogs. For over a year now I have been working at Crossroads and I thoroughly enjoy looking after the animals staying with us as well as being part of a friendly and welcoming team.
I always knew from a young age that I wanted to work with animals. I grew up always having animals around – fish, guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs. At the moment I have a dog and two rabbits – I’d have more if I could!
When I finished school, I decided to study Animal Welfare at college and got a part time job at Crossroads to go alongside my studies. I then went onto university where I got my degree in BSc Applied Animal Studies.
When I finished, I was unsure of what to do exactly but after being offered a full time position at Crossroads, 8 years later I am still here! From the age of 15 where I started off at the bottom, because of my love of the job and my dedication I have now become Deputy Manager.
I have always been determined to work with animals having owned a wide range of pets from hamsters, gerbils and rabbits to currently owning two of my own horses. I have volunteered to work with animals from an early age and always wanted a full time job in this area.
My aunt also has a guide dog which I regularly look after which leads me to have a good understanding of dogs needs and requirements.
When I am not at work you’ll find me looking after and riding my horses, possibly preparing them for another sponsored charity ride. I have been at crossroads for almost a year and it is the best place to be! I love every minute and I always give my best to make sure our guests are happy, comfortable and loved.
Since I was very young it has been a dream of mine to work with animals and I am hugely appreciative of being given the opportunity to do so.
When I was younger I volunteered at a riding stables to work with horses and I also did work experience at a dog groomers.
I studied Level 2 Animal Welfare at Moulton College based in Silverstone where I further increased my passion for working with animals.
Working with animals was something I knew I wanted to do from a young age. I have owned both dogs and cats though most of my time has been spent with cats as I have lived with at least 2 cats (4 at one stage) since age 3.
I went to Moulton College to study Level 3 Animal Management which allowed me to gain experience with a larger variety of animals.
I have been working at Crossroads for 6 months now (since April 2019) and have enjoyed meeting and caring for the dogs and cats that have come to stay there.
Bailey has a Level 3 qualification in Animal Management at Moulton College, and has a passion of working with all types of animals, from reptiles dogs and cats.
