ABOUT US

Hi, I am Christine and I own and run Christine’s Cat Care, Boarding Cattery with occasional help from my teenage son, Ben. I was a nurse for just over 37 years and have recently retired. I worked in many areas of nursing during this time. A lot of my nursing skills are transferable and can be adapted and used when caring for cats too.
I am an experienced cat owner and have had cats for the last 22 years. At the moment we have one 3 year old black female cat called Katie, 2 ginger tom kittens called Rusty and Gingy and one little 7 year old Shih Tzu dog called Toby. Toby loves all cats and he thinks he is part cat himself! He won’t be roaming around the cattery so don’t worry if your cats don’t like dogs!

Christine’s Cat Care is a small boarding cattery in Tweedbank, Scottish Borders. It has 3 cat chalets which all take a maximum of 2 cats, from the same household, per chalet. Two of the chalets have an adjoining cat door which can be left open if there are more than 2 cats from the same family staying. This allows the cats to mingle with each other but also gives them adequate space to exercise.

Your cats will be well looked after. We care for your cats the way we care for our own (who are all very spoiled!😊).

Whilst your cat/s are in our care we will provide you with updates and post pictures on our Facebook page/website to show how your cat/s are settling. We never mention any owners or cat/s names on our posts. Please let us know if you do not want this to happen.

SERVICES PROVIDED

Christine’s Cat Care provides the following services –

• Beds & blankets – we have a variety of beds to suit all cats needs, self heating fleece blankets.
• Food & water bowls – water dispensers are sterilised between bookings.
• Toys & activities – all our toys are washed/cleaned between bookings.
• Cat Litter – we have both catsan and wood based cat litter.
• Litter Trays – we have a variety of sizes, shapes and either lidded or non lidded versions.
• Grooming & Nail Trimming – we have washable brushes and will happily groom your cat/s and can trim your cat/s nails or bathe eyes at no extra costs. This will only be carried out if the cat/s are happy and allow this to be done.
• Medications – we will attempt to give all oral medications. We will administer insulin injections in diabetic cats. 
• Use of Feliway Spray – if we know your cat is anxious we can use feliway spray on bedding etc to calm and comfort them.
