It is with great sadness that Chadkirk Kennels will permanently close its doors from 18th September 2022.
This is due to bereavement of the inspirational Mr Raymond Clayton, Founder of the Kennels, who peacefully passed away on Friday 15th July, and another family bereavement of Shelly and Steve Bagnall on 20th July, both families agreed that the time has come to close.
Thank you to all our clients for your support over the years you have been wonderful and your dogs will be missed.

Our aim is to provide you with peace of mind, when you travel or spend any considerable time away from your pet, we want you to feel assured that they are in safe caring hands, being looked after by a team who have your pets best interests at heart. All our dogs are lead walked at least once a day at no extra cost to yourself. We accept viewings any day by appoinment..

About Us
We have been established for over 25 years and are a privately owned family run business
We are based in the beautiful Goyt Valley Nature Reserve in Chadkirk which lies between the villages of Marple and Romiley. We are situated just off A627 on Mill Lane, by Otterspool Bridge and are only 10 minutes drive from J13 of M60.
We provide boarding facilities for all breeds of dogs and cats. Our grounds and the surrounding tracks and paths allow for great lead walks for dogs, which is a service we offer free of charge. In addition we have a securely fenced paddock with plenty of toys for your dogs to play with during their stay.
We offer a full clipping and grooming service for both residents and non residents and a collection and drop off service. Please see our grooming page for further details.
Chadkirk Grooming and Clipping Salon
We offer a professional clipping and grooming service which will ensure that your dog looks and smells beautiful, and is given a style which fits in with your lifestyle.
At an initial consultation we will discuss with you your pet’s lifestyle and grooming needs in detail. We will examine the condition of the dogs coat and skin and together we can decide the best style and method. (e.g. Breed Standard or Domestic Trim) for your dog.
Shampoos and conditioners are chosen for the needs of the individual dog and will leave your dog’s coat feeling and looking soft, clean and smelling wonderful.
Services
Bathing, Grooming, Clipping, Scissoring, Nail Clipping and Ear Cleaning, Collection and Drop Off.
We offer a 10% reduction on our rates for dogs using these services whilst boarding with Chadkirk Boarding Kennels.
Every dog is fully insured throughout.
Cattery
We are particularly proud of our bright and sunny cattery. All cats have windows overlooking outside areas, enabling them to view their neighbours and the variety of bird life etc. All units are very spacious, lit, heated and split level. A bed and bedding is provided, although we are happy for you to bring your own if you wish. Each unit has a separate area for litter trays and there is plenty of room for toys and scratching posts etc.
If your cat is elderly or unable to get about, we can provide single storey accommodation. .
We cater for cats on special diets and those on medication including diabetic cats. There is no additional charge for administering medication. We feed twice daily or more often if requested. If your cat is on a prescription diet you can bring your own food with pleasure. Fresh water is always available to your cat.
Each unit is swept, wiped down and thoroughly disinfected daily and the litter trays are changed twice a day or when soiled.
We are open for viewing any day by appointment.. We also accept overnight and weekend stays.

Kennels
Our individual kennels and adjoining outside covered runs provide warm, comfortable and safe accomodation for all breeds, ages and sizes of dogs.
If you have more than one dog we have large kennel units which can accomodate up to four dogs from one family. All dogs receive individual loving care and attention from our team.
Every dog is exercised daily by lead walking along the surrounding tracks and paths or free play time in our securely fenced paddock or indoor play arena.(we do not charge extra for walking or play time).
We stock a large range of dog food and each pet is individually catered for to the owners specific instructions. We try to stick as closely as possible to the dogs existing diet and feed times. However if your dog has any allergies or intolerances it would be best to provide your own food. There are no discounts for providing your own food.
We are happy to administer veterinary prescribed medication, during normal working hours at no extra cost. There is an additional charge of £2 per day after 6pm.
All dogs must be in possession of an up-to-date vaccination certificate which must include the vaccine for kennel cough.
Owners are welcome to view the kennels and cattery, any day by appointment.
Our boarding kennels are fully licensed and approved by the local authority.
Overnight boarding price is £22.00 per dog, per day (£25 minimum charge). Further discount is available for long stays.
All prices include Food, Bedding, Walks and all their needs.
There is a non-refundable deposit required at the time of booking dependant on the length of stay.
We are not able to take video footage or pictures to send to clients, as this can be time consuming and take time away from the boarding dogs.
Dog Training
THE NEXT COURSE FOR BEGINNER HANDLER AND PUPPY TRAINING WILL COMMENCE ON January 6th 2020
Chadkirk Dog Training Centre is a full time dog training establishment with both indoor and outdoor facilities where you can train your dog under the expert guidance of a professional trainer. We cater for all breeds of dogs and their problems from starter classes to advanced.
MONDAY
7.00-8.30 pm – 6 week courses for owners with no previous experience of pet training. On the courses we aim to help owners overcome common behaviour problems by concentrating on basic pet obedience training, in a fun way, which will allow the owners to have more control over their pet and therefore make life more enjoyable for both. Equipment required: collar and lead (not flexi or chain leads as these are not kind to your hands when beginning training.) The lead should ideally be approximately 1m in length.
TUESDAY AM –
10.00-12 noon – An ongoing class of basic and intermediate training.
TUESDAY PM –
7.00-8.30 pm Intermediate Dog Training
A follow on class to the Beginner and Puppy Class. £35 for a course running for 5 weeks. Numbers are limited, so please call if you would like to attend these classes. 0161 427 0846.

A 25% deposit is required for bookings, a 50% deposit is required for bookings from 1st July to 14th September.
A minimum 4 day charge is implemented from 1st July to 14th September.
We are closed for pick up and collection on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve we are only open from 9am-11.30am
A double charge applies on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
