Cefn Coed Boarding Kennels

Be the first to review

Cefn Coed has been operating as boarding kennels since 1997. We have a regular stream of returning happy customers both of the four and two legged variety.

All new customers are encouraged to visit the kennels during opening hours.
We look forward to seeing you in the future.

When your dogs stay at Cefn Coed Kennels, rest assured that they will feel safe, secure and loved. Our brick built kennels are centrally heated and overlook the exercise field. No kennels face each other ensuring a stress free stay for your pet.

Each kennel is provided with a plastic dog basket with a vet bed and fleece blanket, and a separate vet bed for lounging, however you are welcome to bring your own bed if you prefer. If your dog has a favourite toy then please bring this. We do not allow balls in the kennels as this is a chocking hazard but will happily play ball on the field with them. On arrival your dogs will find welcome treats in the kennels, and we will provide numerous treats during their stay.

We don’t mix any dogs and minimise stress levels by shutting the bottom of the stable doors when dogs are being taken outside for exercise. Dogs are exercised in a fully fenced field. They go off lead if you allow and we will adjust the exercise according to your dogs age and ability.

During the day the dogs will also be let out numerous times into the fully secured astro turfed yard.

We have 2 large family kennels and 10 regular kennels, the regular kennels will easily accommodate two Labrador sized dogs.

We provide a choice of branded tinned dog food (up to 2 cans per day per dog) and a selection of dry food. If your dog is a fussy eater, puppy or on a special diet we recommend bringing their own food. We normally feed dogs twice daily, however we are happy to accommodate other feeding patterns to follow what you do at home.

Late evening, we let the dogs out for their final ablutions of the day and provide them with a bed time biscuit and turn down service. The radio is turned off ready for a peaceful nights sleep, where they can dream of the activities they did that day.

SPECIAL NEEDS

With a Kennels comes responsibility and trust. We are responsible for your dog and you trust us to look after him/ her. Some need special care and some need medication such as pills or liquids or injections for diabetes or antibiotics. We are happy to administer most medication to most dogs at noadditional cost.

VACCINATIONS

It is important that your pet or pets are fully vaccinated (Dogs must have Kennel Cough). Kennel Cough is not part of your dogs 1st, 2nd injection or booster, so if you are going to board your dog please ask for it at your Vet. On your pets first stay with us we have to fill out an information card which includes important vaccination information. Please bring your pets vaccination card with you on each visit. ALL VACCINATIONS ARE IMPORTANT, NOT JUST TO PROTECT YOUR PET BUT TO PROTECT OTHER DOGS AND US TOO.

VETS

We use several local veterinary practices which include Ruthin, Bala, Chirk, Llangollen and Corwen .  If any dog falls ill for any reason we will immediately consult your own vet. We will then contact you or your nominated emergency contact to inform them of the situation. All contact detail are recorded on your first visit to us.

If we are required to take your dog for a visit to the vets (on the vets recommendation) during its stay with us, a travel/ waiting time & per mile charge will be applied to your final bill.
