Welcome to Big Pooch Little Pooch

Welcome to the Big Pooch Little Pooch family. We provide dog walking, pet care, advice and accessories for your beloved pets. Please take a moment to browse our site and explore the variety we offer for both you and your furballs.

About Us

Hi, My name is Anna, and I’m proud to be Milo’s dog mom and the owner of Big Pooch Little Pooch (pictured). I have cared for animals all my life, beginning with goldfish at an early age and through to horses as a hobby. After many years of teaching, I decided to leave the profession to pursue my interest in Animal Care. I have had the good fortune to work at a veterinarian during my career in animal care, which has allowed me to learn about animal care from a medical perspective and complete training in animal care first aid. From there, I earned various animal care credentials in areas including dog training, dog behaviour, and animal care.

I am also a published author who has written on the establishment of pet care and dog-walking enterprises. I provide other pet care industry professionals with advice and support as they launch their global businesses. For further information, visit this website’s publications area.

We appreciate you coming to our website, and we look forward to having you join the Big Pooch Little Pooch family soon!

Dog Walking

All dogs no matter their size require daily exercise and an opportunity to socialise with other dogs. Depending on your dog’s requirements they can be walking individually, as part of a group walk or as part of our Adventure walks. All dogs are collected from their homes and walking in their local area. Walks tend to include some pavement walking (to keep their nails filed) and an opportunity for free play time with toys. All dogs are towelled dry after their walk and feet wiped. Water bowls are refreshed and dors are settled back into their home environment before leaving them. Adventure walks can be a little messy season dependant but great fun. As a result access to an outside hose and towels maybe required.

Puppy Care

Puppies (like young children) need lots of care and attention at a young age. Each puppy visit will last 20-25 minutes during this time I will play with your puppy (ensuring ample time for toileting). Provide basic training, change their water and clean up any little accidents.

As your puppy grows they can be introduced to dog walks(see dog walking tab for prices) which encourages socialisation with other dogs and walking etiquette.

Dog Training

I am a trained dog behaviourist and can help you with basic dog training and socialisation. It’s important to begin training your dog at an early age to get the foundations right before your puppy grows into an adult dog. Dogs are fast learners, I will help yours by teaching the fundamentals of good behaviour, canine socialisation, and noise desensitisation. Comparatively, to their untrained counterparts, well- behaved dogs are less prone to stray and usually lead more pleasant and satisfying lives.

Cat and Small Animal Care

Cat and small animal care is available no matter how big or small your pet is. Every pet needs care when you are not there, so let me take the worry away and care for your animals while you are away.

Each visit will include:

  • Feeding
  • Refreshing water
  • Cleaning of their habitat/litter tray
  • Exercise/play time

Visits can be done throughout the day to maintain their routine. By keeping your pets in the comfort of their home you are avoiding the stress of alternative boarding care.
