Best Friend Petcare are experienced dog owners and pet sitters. We offer a perfect alternative to boarding kennels. Whether you are going on a day trip or a longer holiday you can rest assured that your dog is in good hands.

Your dog will come and stay with us in our home so that while you are away they will have the same routine that they are used to, they can even bring their own bed and toys!
While you are on holiday, your pooch will be too!

We are fully insured and CRB checked. We are also licenced and inspected by Shropshire Council.

We are able to care for other pets by prior arrangement (family pets have included ferrets, rabbits, hamsters, horses, chickens, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs …the list goes on!) please feel free to call us for a chat about your particular pet needs.

About Us

Linda and Phil
We have both had dogs (and numerous other animals) all our lives, and are experienced at pet-sitting. We have 6 chickens, one cat and a lurcher called Poppy.
We live in Pulverbatch near Shrewsbury and have a large enclosed garden in which your dog will be able to wander and play in safety.

Keeping in touch
You can call or text us anytime during our opening hours to see how your pet is settling in, and we are able to provide regular updates via text or email.

Medication
We are able to give your pets oral medication and we can also follow any special diets or food requirements.

A Trial Run
Like the sound of our service, but not sure if your pet will?
Why not try it out for a night before you commit to a longer stay. If you are using our service for the first time we can offer a special overnight rate of £15 for one night. You can then be sure that you and your dog are happy with the service we provide.

Services

Our alternative to kennelling means that while you are away your pet will come and live with us in our home. Here is an example of the services we can offer:

Overnight Stay
Our service is like a hotel for your pet, your dog will come and stay with us in our home and enjoy regular walks and the run of the garden.

Our daily rate is £18. Discounts for more than one dog. (Rate quoted is for 24hrs, anything over this will be charged at a proportion of the daycare rate)

Doggy Daycare
If you are one of our regular boarding customers and need somewhere to leave your dog for the day we can arrange for them to come and stay with us and enjoy walks and play.

Our daily rate is £15. (Covers 8:30am to 6pm)

Please note: we do not provide any of the above services for aggressive dogs, and if a bitch comes into season during her stay it is at your own risk and we do not take responsibility for any mishaps, also they will be limited to our garden for playtime and will not be walked off the premises.

To safeguard the health of your dog, all dogs must be fully vaccinated, including kennel cough, which must be administered two weeks before they come to stay. When boarding your dog with us, vaccination certificates must be brought along with you.

Cat Sitting and Feeding
We will visit your home for a pre-arranged time, examples of the services we can perform include:
   Provision of fresh water and food
   Cleaning of feeding area and bowls
   Cuddles and play
   Cleaning of litter box
   Home security checks
   Bringing in post
   Watering indoor plants
   Switching lights on and off
   Opening and closing curtains/blinds
   Taking out rubbish

Cat sitting from £10 per visit.

Small Animals and Fish
Including hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, mice, ferrets, rats and fish.

Services from £10 per visit.

Horse care
We offer a personalised service package to suit you based on the level of care needed. For example feeding and watering, grooming, turnout and poo-picking/mucking out.
If your prefer this can be combined with house sitting (useful if you’ve got other pets). Please contact us for further information or a quotation

Horse/large pet care from £14.50 per hour.
