Welcome to Bells & Whistles

Bells and Whistles provides fear-free, reward based training & behaviour modification in Buckinghamshire. From puppy training to pets with issues we can help! We hold classes in High Wycombe (Lane End), Bledlow, Chinnor (Henton) & Marlow and can provide 121 help virtually and outdoors at our Henton venue. Home visits have now resumed, for issues that require this service.

We treat the whole household and consider all issues when treating behaviour problems. Our behaviour modification plans are easily followed and really make a difference. We don’t offer quick fixes that don’t work long term.

Whether you have a dog, cat or small mammal; Bells and Whistles will find the right solution for you.

Highly qualified, experienced and reliable – whichever service you use, we’ll always do the right thing for you and your pet.

COVID-19: although there is now no legal requirement to self isolate for those testing positive for covid. We ask that our customers do not attend classes or 121’s while covid positive or suffering any of the key symptoms. This is to help reduce the spread of covid and to help keep our small business running.

Please note, we are running a reduced schedule of classes while our behaviour counsellor Jenny os on maternity leave. 121’s are available with Melanie, but we won’t be taking on new behaviour cases until April 2023.

Our behaviour counsellor Jenny Green is a Certified Clinical Animal Behaviourist and Animal Training Instructor (via the ABTC).

Jenny founded Bells and Whistles in 2009 after 3 years with the RSPCA. Having worked in the animal industry since her teens, Jenny has extensive experience handling difficult dogs as well as a wide range of other species.  With a master’s degree in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University as well as regular attendance at seminars and training events, Jenny is well placed to help with a variety of behavioural and training issues. Jenny is Certificated Member of the Fellowship of Animal Behaviour Clinicians (FABC).

As a youngster, Jenny enjoyed the company of cats, horses, chickens, sheep & even a couple of lizards. While the bulk of Jenny’s work is now with dogs, she regularly sees other species. Jenny is also a Puppy School tutor, teaching a specialist puppy training course designed by renowned author and behaviourist Gwen Bailey.

Jenny lives with her family on their small farm, with 2 dogs, a terrier crossbreed named Silky and Foden who is a Springer Spaniel x Rottweiler.  She also has two highland ponies, Hannah and Hamish. Jenny is keen to promote the use of positive reinforcement training with horses.

Claire Hallett is a Puppy School Tutor and also holds an Animal Behaviour degree from Bristol University. She works at Dogs for Good, teaches some of the Little Marlow classes and covers holidays.

Melanie Mathews is a Puppy School Tutor, taking classes at Haddenham, most of the little Marlow classes and some at Bledlow. Melanie has a Hearing Dogs brood named Tilly, a beautiful cocker spaniel whose puppies are helping deaf and hearing impaired people across the UK. She is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (membership number 01569).
